Quoting Aidhan:

Mahal ka ta... I often see this... Filipino is the national language, while Tagalog was once the national language. It's a just a dialect now. Foreigners often get confused with the two..."Tagalog" is more popular to foreigners than the term "Filipino." They use Tagalog when they mean Filipino

yup!! u got that right! but there is no difference between filipino and tagalog...just the terminology issue. i guess until now most of the filipino still prefers to call our national language as tagalog rather than filipino.

Anna.. Agnes...Ano ba??? lol..
Okay .. it is not that they prefer calling it Tagalog than Filipino.. it's just 'cos they are used to it...
Anyway... "I LOVE YOU" is the best 'cos it's universal.
I LOVE YOU>> I LOVE YOU>> I LOVE YOU>> I LOVE YOU>>

correction from the Filipino:
The correct term is Mahal kita not mahal ka ta!
Also you can say Iniibig kita which is more dramatic!!!

one more thing..Filipino and Tagalog is the same! It is the national language in the Philippines.

Hey Ceyda,
Do not get upset. It is same fish thing.I wanted just to share what I read about healthy eating. And it is not bad thing when from something we get the knowledge about other things. It is great I think.I was laughing and was checking my fingers after Alfa's question about joint. We all learn this way.Look at the positive side of everything.
