Quoting aenigma x: Quoting metehan2001:
I clearly said in my previous post that he continiously making fun with people and specially with Turkish people. I am a Turkish too, and I will defend our rights. |
So go and defend them But I will DEFEND people's right to speak what they feel!! Do you REALLY want a censored site where only GOOD things can be said about your country? There is good and bad in everything - Turkey included, but as this is a Turkish Language site, naturally the discussions will mostly be about Turkey. Why do you take such offence? None of us are saying our countries are necessarily better, but it is TURKEY we are discussing here.
(did I really just say "there is good and bad in everything" - lyrics from Ebony and Ivory I believe hahahaha) Offfffff time to go to bed |
I know very well the difference between saying a simple opinion and insulting people. I believe in human rights too. But no one can have such a right to judge all of a nation. Didn't you see what he says in his posts about all Turkish man? Are we, all Turkish men, some kind of lunatic, sexual maniac?
What these sentences belongs to him mean to you. Are they just simple opinions?
1. WHAT A GREAT TEACHER!!! TURKISH GUYS REALLY LOVE TO TEACH GIRLS (PREFERABLY SINGEL ONES) TURKISH. THIS IS LOVE OF TEACHING...NOTHING ELSE...GO AND FRY ANGELS! Melissa pleaseeeee
2. Hi angle-frier,
can you teach bodylanguage too?
thanks
3. what a private tutor he helps with Turkish,he is interested in you and your life (wow) that is how a "private" male tutor should be!!!!
4. turkish males really likes to help foreign girls very very much what a great nation!

Hello guys,as i can see nothing change in TC ..lol
İ didn't miss much !
Ok,as far as i am concern, the only problem here is that Angel has posted in the wrong Forum,is all
He should post it in private Turkish Languge Lessons Forum.
As for all the argument there,i really don't understand you people.
Don't you have better thing to argue about ?
Or you just argue for the sake of arguing ?!
There is a man announcing he is ready to offer aTurkish language lessons, offering to teach.
And it is his right in this Forums, except he didn't pick the right Forum.
And some people attacking him ?
Did he teach you before and you found him not a good teacher ?
Do you have any previous experience with him so you attack him ?
What is your base of attacking him ?!!!!!!!
You really become unbelievable !
And bod,he offers to teach Turkish, not English
He doesn't have to speak English well to teach Turkish !
People doesn't have to talke more than one language,so it is not a defect in them if they don't.
İf they do,even struggling,as we're struggling with Turkish,so....
Well done !

Quoting metehan2001: Quoting Trudy: Quoting janissary: teaching and translating are different things. you can translate something very well but it s not same with teaching a language. if it was easy there wouldnt be any teachers school. especially if you are teaching ur language to a foreigner it s more difficult because you have to speak his or her language very well. some friends think that our comments are childish but just respect to teachers it s not easy as you think. bülent can help ppl, we try to help too but we are not teacher. on TC there are some good teachers they show there teaching ability with their lessons like qdemir and erdinç (I havent seen him online for along time, I dont know why), I think they have proved theirselves and some other members I cant remember now. |
True that there is a big difference between translating and teaching. But it is absolutely not necessary that you speak the language of your students to be a good teacher. I'm a language teacher for more than 10 years now, I teach my language to students (adults!) of more than 20 nationalities. Do you think I can speak all those languages fluently? In fact, speaking the language of your student is more a disadvantage than an advantage because there is the risk you stick with just translating instead of explaining. The best way of learning a language is what teachers call 'take a bath in it' - only that language and nothing else. It is also the most difficult way, especially when you do not live in the country of your chosen language. |
Trudy, I completely aggree with your opinion about the method for teaching a language to foreigners. Even I can say, it is not an opinion but a rule in modern languge teaching techniques to use target language while you teach it in classroom or wherever. It seems to hard in the beginning specially for the new learners, but then this method makes the students learn faster. An experienced English teacher takes the teaching materials like 'Headway' with him/her and goes to different countries where he/she doesn't know the local language but teachs English perfectly. So, it is the same with all language teachers. In Turkey, The TÖMERS are the experts with Turkish language centers. If you go to that centers you will see that the teachers use only Turkish while their teaching and as we know, these language centers are very successful. |
Responding to Janissary's post:
I teach beginning level Spanish to university students. From day 1, one, I use ALL Spanish in the classroom. My students learn and many have gone on to become Spanish language majors from not even being able to say 'hello' the first day.
I imagine that different countries prefer different teaching methods. However, my research has not led me to discover any renowned linguists or methodologist that do not support the total immersion method.
I would be curious to read any academic journal articles, relevant research, or literature that displaces the target language as the teaching language.
Also, I have taught other languages in various countries where I did not speak the students language and was quite successful there as well. You can send me a PM with the book, article titles and authors. Thank you.

What started out as a post of someone offering to teach has turned into something really insipid and immature. Please boys...take your insults private...we all love a good fight now and again, but not when they turn really ugly.
Peace!

So; it is the same with you too. Making fun with people. You need to be reeducated from the beginning. You don't even know how to talk to people. You don't have respect to others. Look at you style of speaking.
You make a very good couple with him. In fact, it was clear to understand when you started defending the one that you participate his behavior.

metehan,
Cool it,aenigma didn't defend what he said, she was defending anyone's right to express his,or her opinion, that's all.
And i think, shallow thoughts don't have chance standing infront of deep ones.
So its enough to express your opinions so people can and will catch the difference without waisting time replying on some shallow ones, don't have any deep base.
