It is not only those learning another language that get it wrong - but many an English person can get their words wrong. There was even a play written and the main character being called Mrs Malaprop after the word "malapropism" the comical misuse of words.

Sorry, going of the subject even more but that play, Mrs Malaprop...is that the same guy who wrote The school for Scandal?

the play isnt called mrs malaprop...it is called 'the rivals' by richard brinsley sheridan...
