The man isn't an ordinary man like us. He isn't thinking of what he will eat for lunch or dinner, or which club to go at night,or fooling online on TC.
The guy's mind is very busy with how he could help those in need in the world. He might not have noticed the holes on his socks while putting them on in the morning.

It was on the news here as well but I wasn't paying attention it until they mentioned Turkey. They didn't talk about what he was doing in Turkey at all, just that he had holes in his socks The news ticker said "President of the Worldbank visits mosque in Turkey... with holes in his socks"

Anyway, it just shows that even though he's stinking rich, he's still an ordinary person. Although personally I throw socks away if they have holes because it makes me crazy
