I do hope this is the correct place for my post, if it's not then I very much apologise. Anyway, on to the subject!

I have a friend in Turkey that wants to send me MMS messages via mobile phone, however she can't. She spoke to Turkcell customer service and they said that they nor any other turkish network allows MMS messages to be sent to other countries; I can't possibly see that this would be the same for every network. Does anybody know of a network that does allow it?

Google seems to hold no answers on this subject (wow!) so I thought I'd see if any of you guys and girls know . If you have any suggestions or anything on this subject then I'd very much appreciate your help!

turkcell has some special countries that allows you to be able to send mms only such as;switzerland, finland or sweden as far as i know , others are not allowed to send or receive any mms as far as i am concerned. Your friend can call costumer service again and ask country by country.
I am not so updated...

Eheh ramayan I did consider sending her a Vodafone SIM card, though I have no assurance that it'd work

Yeah aenigma x, I'm sure eheh. I've sent her MMS messages by phone and she told me that she received them by MSN.

**turkspice**, that's useful to know. 'Ey perhaps I can get a plane to Switzerland whenever she wants to send me MMS messages? Hehe actually maybe I can get a Finnish friend to act as a kind of router

Yes, but if she received them on MSN then its completely different situation to her receiving them on her phone. Yes, if you send them to MSN then you can send MMS messages

She received them on her phone. Blaaaaah okay.

I sent her a picture from my phone using MMS. She received it on her phone by MMS. She then told me on MSN Messenger that she received it. Why did I send her an MMS picture when I could've sent it by MSN transfer? I don't know, I work in mysterious ways

Do you know what network the person sending you the MMS was on? My friend has tried using Avea as well as Turkcell, neither of them worked.

My Turkish friend uses an O2 sim card. I can send free SMS messages to him as part of my monthly allowance. He can reply for free using MMS as long as the sim is topped up by £10 each month. SMS from abroad using O2 is 50p but MMS seems to be free. You get about 75 free MMS for £10 and then it starts to use the £10 credit. Don't call the O2 number though because they will be charged to receive the call.

I use vodafone and my better half uses his turkish sim card, we regularly send mms to each other and recieve them no problems, it doesnt cost him a fortune either.
