is this in english or turkish?

if you need help, shouldn't you write something first, then post it on here and we can help correct it?

maybe you should try writing one first?

Again, I am bemused by your request. Do you think we need something to do, or are we doing your work for you today?

Is it an instruction or a request?

Why does it seem to me quite clear? He asks you, preferably native English speakers, to prepare one minute oral speech asking your boss for a raise! That's all! Or not?

no, he is asking us to write for him in english something that he should be doing himself.

Thats all? If I was writing such a letter I would include factors which would justify a raise. A knowledge of the situation and job is required.

The title of this post "help with...." is misleading. I would be delighted to help but feel rather reluctant to compose the ENTIRE letter without any effort whatsoever on the part of the sender!

If Tuncay87 would like to post a draft the letter I am sure there are many people, including myself, who would be more than happy to edit and proof read it.

oh aenigma you put it into words so much better.

i would also be willing to help out with corrections if tuncay87 posted a draft version in english here.

i would certainly not want to write it for him.

it's like me asking for native turkish speakers to write me a letter in turkish and then me passing it off as my own. i don't think that is appropriate.

I would open the conversation by saying " can I have a word with you, I need to talk to you about a pay rise"

There would be no speech, no beating around the bush, just straight to the point. If you have a good relationship with your boss why do you need a speech?? And even if you dont have a good relationship with your boss a speech sounds like you are crawling to him/her.

Just bite the bullet

Dearest Boss, (considering his mood and health conditions at the time of your speech)
Knowing how much you are concerned about us [give a shit about lazy bones, lol] and appreciate our work we do for you and the company, [esp. me, who always outperform ], I would kindly ask for raising my salary up to $$$. I believe I'll be even more faithful and devoted to my job [whatever it is] if you do this little favor for me!
Thank you for your consideration.
[And don't forget to pray before and after your speech or you'll be in the list of next "lay offffs" ]...

Boss will be pleased

But seriously, why do you need this kinda speech? Smts it's better to submit it in a letter or so.
