why do you feel that you have to get a gift..isn't the gift of meeting your 'lover' enough?

oh come on...

she is just asking something little... to make her friend the way more happy and surprised... dont you get happy or blush some when a friend of yours give you a little gift?

Ofcourse to see the person you love, your lover, is the best gift at all... but this is "God's Gift" or so they say

The Gift here is something different

Exchange?! Do you exchange gifts? I exchange only currency, and give and get gifts in no return. (So, one who considers to give me a gift, should in no way expect me a gift in return!)

I don't think it's necessarily materialism. Some people's love language is gifts. It does not mean an expensive item. It could be a flower picked from a garden or a lovely poem written on beautiful stationary. It just means that somebody took the time to think of something for you. I personally prefer a great conversation to an item. But, I also recognize that there are several love languages and each person is unique in what makes them feel loved.

Lots of little things and handwritten notes (which would seem silly to other people but are biggest treasure to me) and a very special necklace
