Hi all,
Me and Nesrin always seem to get on the subject of money it seems a constant topic lately I wanted to ask all members what they would do in their present situation with a lottery win or a substantial cash prize win. I know we would all first be so excited at the prospect of having a nice win and the mind would work very hard spending the money in no time. I would be able to fulfil my wish which is to move to Turkey (Istanbul) to be with my loved one I have no hesitation on this being the first thought coming into my mind before anything else. I know we all like to think of what we would do in our minds with a nice sum of money but being in your present situation what would be the first thing you would do when you received this news. I thought this would be an intresting subject away from the Turkish class forum and everyday life. Look forward to your replies

I always find the topic of winning money a difficult one, as it so often leads to a destroyed life rather than a better one. Loverprague, you will have heard of the Lottolout? He lives near me

But if I won a enough money, I would give up work, I would give to charity, go to a deprived area of the world and see what difference I could make, I would make sure my sons were comfortable, and I would help my nieces and nephews too (money would be put into trust until they reached a certain age).

Then maybe I would buy a yacht and moor it somewhere nice, hot and sunny...............

I would throw all the coins into the sea, and burn up all the banknotes! Perhaps all greedies for money on the earth would jump into that fire and burn! Then smiling, I would whistle joyfully.

I would firstly divide it in half and give okkes half for him to do with at how he likes, then i would pay off my mum and dad's mortgage(£25,000 left ), buy myself a house in England and possibly a home near Maras or Okkes' village and if I could buy my brother an apartment I would do that too.
If I had enough I'd buy my grandparents house too. Then all my money would be gone but at least I would have done something useful with it

Travel around the world for about a year while taking a leave from my work. After returning I would work less hours but I wouldn't quit it. I would help my mum and my sister, put some on a bankaccount for 'later', give some to charity, pay off my mortgage for a greater part (not all, that's not wise for refunding taxes) and if there is still left, I don't know yet. Can I think about that until I indeed win that money?
