misen, just have your eyes, mind and heart wide open and....enjoy your trip

When I went to Istanbul for the first time, I went on my own. I did stay in a youth hostel in Sultanahmet though. I wouldn't stay in that area anymore, but it was great for a first time visit. The big advantage of travelling on your own is that you get to talk to people more easily. I spent time with people I met, but I also did a lot of things on my own, and I never felt uneasy once.
No need to worry about things, just use your common sense and you'll be more than fine

MERHABA!!
I WAS IN ISTANBUL ON JANUARY LAST... ME AND MY SISTER.... ALONE...
AND THE IDEA I GOT FROM THERE IS MAN ARE REALLY IMPRESSED FROM WOMEN FROM ANOTHER COUNTRIES.... ESPECIALLY THE ONE THAT LOOKS REALLY DIFFERENT FROM TURKISH WOMAN.... THEY TRIED TO TALK TO US AND MOST OF THEM WERE REALLY NICE AND RESPECTFULL. WHEN THEY NOTICED WE WERE BRAZILIAN THEY REALLY TREATED US IN A SPECIAL WAY BECAUSE OF ALEX DE SOUZA... IT'S FUNNY, BUT TRUE......
IN GENERAL NO ONE CROSSED THE LINE.... AND SINCE I HAVE BEEN IN MANY COUNTIES BEFORE, I CAN'T SAY THAT BEING IN TURKEY CAN BE MORE DANGEROUS THAN OTHER COUNTRY..... AND THE RULE IS THE SAME FOR EVERYWHERE. IF YOU GIVE THE CHANCE BAD THINGS CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE....
RELAX AND ENJOY YOUR TRIP.... I RECOMEND ISTANBUL TO EVERYBODY.... AND FOR ME IT'S THE BEST PLACE IN EARTH.... I HOPE I WOULD GO BACK SOON...
WISH YOU A GREAT TIME IN "PARADISE".....
BYE
