I never ate etli çiğ köfte because the idea of eating raw meat made me feel sick. Untill I realised that when barbecueing I told Kadir to leave my biftek red and raw inside because that's how I like it. Now I eat çiğ köfte with meat too, but still on a rare occasion

The meat in çiğ köfte may not be cooked by traditional cooking methodes but in fact it's not like any raw meat, because of the hot spices, the rawness of the meat goes. So, you can safely eat it. And these days it's very rare to find a real çiğ köfte, because they don't put meat in it, you have to ask.

 now way.trust me red meat and raw inside is more raw than the meat in çiğlöfte.i cant eat it

Do you mean the 'taste' of the rawness goes, or the chance of bacteries that come along with uncooked meat?
Yes, I know. I have a classmate whose housemate makes çiğ köfte himself, with meat And I ate with meat in a restaurant, but when I ate without meat another time, I have to admit I didnt notice that there was no meat in it

I can't eat anything with bones in it either. Just hate the soups with chopped up meat/bones where you pick it up and suck the meat off It's a psychological thing I guess

No, not the taste. Treating the meat with very hot spices, cooks the meat. It's like cooking the fish by just salt. It's something chemical. Çiğ köfte is originally from Şanlıurfa where the temperature goes up to 45 degrees, so treating with the spicies is a way to protect the meat from bacterias etc.
Me, too. I sometimes do not notice if there's meat inside or not

meat in çiğkötfe cooks when it mixes with the hot pepper and spices.i dont think there is any bacterium in it but you should not eat it everywhere

Not so crazy about that either
It's ok if there has been bones in it (like there often is in soup) just don't tell me about it and don't let me see it

Ah ok Thanks Turquoise. Yes I've been told that too. Im not a great fan of it anyway, just sometimes with a glass of rakı and other meze, but even then I wont eat more than 1 or 2. I love kısır though, now that I think of it, it is some sort of the same, only different structure and less spiced (though that can be changed )
