As someone has already written above, it should be something spontaineous. I think the best way is to listen carefully what a person u care about is saying. Later it is nice suprise when u can accord to what she said before. Or when she is saying about something she likes an u give her the thing she mentioned long time before...

In England we call the first thing a person says to you when they want to meet you a 'chat up line'

Someone once said to me (in a club) - 'Hello! Did you hurt yourself?' - when I asked why, he said 'when you fell from heaven - did you hurt yourself?' hahaha

i wasn't that impressed!

I have to say that I would not be that impressed with someone who called me 'baby' either. I'm with you there Seticio!

On the other hand a rather charming Lithuanian boy asked me the other night 'What such a beautiful lady was doing out alone so late and who was looking after my babies! hahahah for those of you know how old I am, that was a really really good chat up line! hehehe

My first sentance would be.

Hi, would you like to meet up, I would like to get to know you, you look interesting!

Although I probably wouldn't say that I would probably be shy and just talk about the weather or something stupid like that!!! ha ha ha ha
