telefon beni ne zaman sen gelmak dogru dubai

Hi - you are doing great for a beginner - the important thing is to KEEP trying.

You dont say telefon : this is a noun. To telephone someone (verb) you have to say telefon etmek. Or you can use aramak (to call) as it is shorter.

Turkish is back to front from English, or maybe I should say English is back to front from Turkish !!! So you dont say call me, you say "me-to call"

Bana telefon et

For "To come to Dubai" we say "Dubai-to to come"
Dubai'ye gelmek

Other concepts such as when (-diğinde ending) are bits of grammar you learn at intermediate level.

Keep plugging away .. you feel for ages like you are climbing up hill, then it suddenly makes sense and you get a wonderful view from the top!!!

OK .. confession time

When I was trying to do one of my first homeworks I wanted to write "the old lady". I looked up the words one by one in the dictionary. My teacher couldn^t help laughing that I had written "the antique lady" instead.

I went to the bread shop. I had just discovered the word for brown bread (kepekli) but got the kepek muddles up with the word for dog (kopek). So instead of asking for brown bread I asked him for bread with dogs.
