Günaydın-good morning
iyi uyudun mu?- did you sleep well?
kahvaltıda ne yersin?- what would you like to have for breakfast
İyi günler- both hi and have a nice day
Merhaba-hello
Bugün nasılsın?- How are you today?
Teşekkürler çok iyiyim-thank you I am fine
Ailen nasıl, iyi mi?How is your family, are they doing well?
Teşekkürler onlar da iyiler- thank you they are fine too
Havalar da ne sıcak(soğuk-cold, yağmurlu-rainy) değil mi?- The weather goes pretty hot, isnt it?
Evet gerçekten çok sıcak-yes, it is really hot
Ailene selam söyle- Say hi to your fmily
sağol sen de söyle- thanks, you say hi to your family too
HoşÃ§akal-bye
Günün nasıl geçti?- how was your day today
Çok yoğundu-pretty busy
Çok yorgunum- ı am too tired
Çay içer misin? would you like to have a cup of coffee
thats all from me, ask something spesific that would make it easier.

What you actually need in a difficult situation is time.
Here are few tips to give you those few precious seconds to come up with a rapid life saving answer.
EMINMISIN? Are you sure?
EMIN DEGILIM I am not sure
BELKI Maybe
OYLE MI DEMISTIM? Was that what I said?
HATIRLAMIYORUM I cant remember
OYLE DEMEDIM I never said that
HEY! SAKA YAPTIM Hey! I was only joking.
SIRA YINE BENDE MI? Is it my turn again?
NIYE SOYLEMEDIN? Why did you not say so?
UNUTTUM I forgot
BU KONUDA MANTIKLI OLALIM Lets be reasonable about this
ABARTIYORSUN, CANIM You are exagerating, dear
MUMKUN OLABILIR That may just be possible

Kim, ben mi? : Who, me?
Tam ben de seni arayacaktım / aramak üzeriydim: I was just going to call you. / was just about to call you.
Biliyorsam Allah belamı versin : If I know (that) God will damn me.
Özür dilerim. Öyle demek istemedim : I apologize. I didn't want to mean that.
Beni yanlış anladın. : You got me wrong.
(Telefonumun) şarjı bitmişti / bitmek üzere. : My battery was flat /dead. / is about to die.
Alo alo sesiniz gelmiyor / sizi duyamıyorum : Hello hello I can't hear you. (This is also very useful, when you don't remember the name of the girl on the phone in order to make her say her name.)
Ahmet, ben seni sonra ararırım. : Ahmet, I will call you later (when you are with another girl)
Arkadaşlarla kahvede okey oynuyorum. : I am playing okey with friends in a coffee house. (on the phone when you are asked where you are.)
AlphaF, why don't you compile those very useful expressions in a book?

You must be really good at Turkish then. Reading Turkish poems in original requires a good command of Turkish. Actually, it is true for all languages.

Unfortunately not at all but it is my goal for the near future.
You are right regarding reading the poems in every language as I know from few. Hope it will work with Turkish.
Actually have to be positive to get closer to that goal .

The amusing phrases above are male related, sadly my Turkish is not so good, so perhaps some kind lady who speaks Turkish can come up with some 'useful' excuses, sorry phrases, for the ladies! (I forgot, we don't make excuses )

Nope - it takes two to tango - my meaning is not quite so literal - if the relationship is a good one for both parties then the 'bedroom department' is bound to be a success.

Agree reBooped, but I add that even with a good relationship some men could learn.....

She only said that the men who have "headache problems" need to look closer at themselves, she did not imply that men have to do all the work.
