Quoting ani_istanbul: Can I photocopy it ?
Turkish Grammar is a very good book but it is a reference book not a study one.
It is useful for Turkish teachers and for advanced students.

As I said above, we have one in stock (Greenhouse on Asian side) but we are closed next 2 weeks for holidays
I dont recommend Lewis book to people wanting to learn conversational Turkish as it is like a serious university textbook (e.g. in teaching the alhabet it teaches you the Tukish name for the line that is put above the g to make it into yumuşak g: I made a short survey of my Turkish friends and didnt find anyone who knew what it is called!')
It is ideal for the very serious intermediate or advanced student who wants a lot of detail

dear Joanne Tomer's book has very nice exercises but sometimes it is difficult to self study because it has no English explanation.

Quoting qdemir: gezbelle, I would like to know your review about 'Turkish Grammar' by GL.
|
qdemir...i haven't read the whole book. it was really interesting and helpful to start off with, especially with the pronunciation of certain turkish letters.
but i don't have a linguistic background and it seems to go down that path. so it may lose some readers along the way.
i will have to try and pick it up again and read it to the end.
