In my opinion meeting someone new online can be quite romantic. And if the other person is from another country, an internet communication overseas can be even more interesting and sometimes more informative than you can imagine. Because those couples really talk to each other without worrying about jumping into bed the same day and the next day ending the relationship, pretending nothing has ever happened yesterday. I think after chatting for some time, couples would have enough time to decide whether they have a lot in common to carry the relationship onto a next level in the future, or they could just keep up with the good friendship without ever hurting each other.

Funny though! I have just felt like a psychologist consulting a friend, but have never tried this before myself. Well, if you know someone who could practice this with me, please PM me. I am just curious if my idea here would work..
Oh well. enough talking..let me get back to my theses write-up now..

i have not loved anyone on internet but i think it is possible to love someone on internet if you will meet at the end. in cyber world, you can meet someone wherelse it is impossible to know. i have some friends who met on msn and got married and they are so happy now.

hey girls. dont be afraid. to find (meet) someone like that is not the reason why i am here

yeah , actually i do have a friend who got married, from a internet- realationship !
she was over here on Atlanta Ga. USA and his was on Puerto Rico, maybe no so far away but the point it's that they get alone ... that was like 7 yrs ago and they still together
So i think i can say:
it was a happy ending

My sister-in-law used a dating site to find her current husband, in the UK and two years later the marriage is on the rocks! But then who ever she married would regret it.

Hi,
I met Nesrin online and I can say that is the best thing that ever happened to me, I was single for a while after a previous relationship had gone sour and joined dating sites and tried the usual ways of meeting new people. I never forget what my grandmother always said you will find her one day without actually looking I am sure you will, yes my dear grandmother was right, I never thought I would but I did.

It started over two years ago I was making friends on ICQ chat and not really looking for someone and then Nesrin came along and we chatted at first just friends and for a whole year our relationship evolved, I decided it was time to meet her and since that meeting it has grown in strength to engagement and soon marriage. I would still air caution to internet relationships as many people can hide behind a computer, I say take your chance and meet them if it is going well, without the internet I would surely maybe be still single and that is a true statement.
Good luck all

Like some of you, I met my hubby-to-be on the Internet. Some people don't really like to tell others that they met their partner online cuz these people tend to be skeptical. My, then boyfriend, now fiance, told me that the Internet is just another platform for people to know each other, there is no difference from meeting the person from work, or introduced by family or friends.

In fact, generally people are more vocal of their thoughts when chatting with "strangers" cuz you're not quite exposed to the criticism from close family and friends which will put you down.

Regardless of where you get to know your new friend, you have to be smart and cautious as bad people can hide not only behind their computers but also put on a mask in their daily lives other than in the virtual worlds. In addition, you always have to know a person well before you decide if you wanna commit your life to him or her. Thus, it really doesn't make much of a difference if you do know him or her from the Internet.

Once you're sure of him or her, go for it and enjoy it.

Hmmmm, so far there are mostly positive opinions or experiences being posted here. I wonder if there are some other sharings that can make people alert and think deep before commiting in an online romance. Guess that it's not a very pleasant experience to share, and that's why.
