Bahçemde birçok böğürtlen büyüyor. Onları dikmemişim, onlar kendiliğinden büyüdüler! Şimdi meyveyi toplacağım ve onlar ile pişireceğim.

-Haydi, gel, güzel olur!

-Yeterli param olacak, inşallah!
-İnşallah. Çok para getir, çünkü herkes yılbaşında çok para harcıyor.

OK. First of all, you wrote I hope that ...

You can either fiddle about with umarım ki ... or -cağına ümit ediyorum, but the constructs are a bit more advanced. To make it simpler I said "inşallah" for the I hope bit.

If you want to use the I hope form:
Umarım ki yeterli param olacak.
or
Yeterli param olacağıma ümit ediyorum. But inşallah does the trick!

Yeter: enough! Like stop! That is enough now!
Yeterli: enough when it is like a quantity. Maybe "süfficient" is the best translation into English.

e.g. -Türkçeniz iyi mi? Is your Turkish good?
-Yeterli. It is good enough

money = para
I have money= param var.
I have enough money = yeterli param var
I will have enough money = yeterli param olacak.

So we put the 2 together:
I hope I'll have enough money:
Yeterli param olacak, inşallah

So it is yeter-li - "with enough" to take a very literal translation?

Quoting MarioninTurkey:

I have enough money = yeterli param var
I will have enough money = yeterli param olacak.

"olacak" always confuses me when I see it
I don't understand why because as soon as it is explained again it all comes back and makes perfect sense. I need to practice more often and spend more time in Turkia!!!

I loved this text. I guess you want us to make amendments (??? I am nervous of stepping on toes ....Is this OK??? 'cos I like it when people correct my Turkish 'cos then I learn)

-miş tense is for things you don't know directly yourself, but someone has told you or you surmise.

So: unless there is a chance you were smashed out of your head the day you planted these gorgeous blackberries .... you know that you didn't plant them.

What is the surprising thing is that they seem to have grown themselves (i.e. appear to have done so without your direct knowledge).

It would be better to say:

Onları dikmedim, onlar kendiliğinden büyümüşler!

Of course - I would be highly disappointed if you didn't!!!

I deliberated over using -miş- for a long time and trawled through the dictionaries trying to find suitable words.....I finally decided to include the -miş- tense because I recall being told that where multiple verbs occur is a sentence they should be in different tenses!

Quoting MarioninTurkey:

I was trying to say that they had grown all by themselves (i.e. without any input or intervention from me).

Quoting MarioninTurkey:

It would be better to say:

Onları dikmedim, onlar kendiliğinden büyümüşler!

Çok sağol - buna çalışıyorum.
