No, in fact you can be punished by death if you try to do this.... especially in the big cities such as Istanbul 
The usual way to do this is to dress your boyfriend as a woman and pretend you are sisters. Be warned though - maids report any sign of "wrongdoing" to the police.

Most big city hotels require you to be married if you are going to stay in one of their rooms,like aenigma said it's a pain in the harris,but if you go to a smaller hotel off the beaten track they'll take you in if you don't mind bugs crawling about the gaff

Balony  I have never heard of such a thing in Istanbul! I am serious NOW  Large hotels (especially the chains) really dont give a damn - its not their business what you do as long as you pay the bill

This is simply ridiculous! It may be the case with smaller hotels, but the larger business hotels would NEVER do this. Its a cosmopolitan city - if they applied such rules they would never get any corporate business let alone tourism!!!!

When i got married over there i went to many of 'the big chains' they didn't want any of it,they asked for mine and my wifes passport,the smaller hotels are great they dont give a toss,but we went to some of the big ones outside of the city they didnt wear it,trust me i was there,ended up staying at a friends house,give it a go trust me i think they just like to see foreign passports
