Well, The Motorcycle Diaries is Argentinian, but yes, the majority are from the "west" Femme. That is my culture and is what is mostly available to me. I could have been very "high brow" and "politically correct" and listed many foreign films, but I was honest

OK with you?

İ can go on,that is the easiest thing to do,to exchange insults, but to hold it,and keep it up to a civil and respectable, and wont be drawn by anyone to some level i dont accept to join in, that is the hardest.

That is what i've been taught, and that is what i choose.

i don't know... it gives me a really hard time to insult somebody... so, for me exchanging insults is far more harder .

one of the rewardances for the people who pull their tempers might be that they have time (because they have more time than those who insult ) and will to look for God .

what do you mean by rewardance? hm... you are quoting from somewhere?

Lines of respect which when you cross them it shows how poor and empty you are for heading to personal attack .

İ dont know what is your problem exactly with Easterns and İslam, but its obvious that you have really a big one, maybe personal that is why it goes deep,i dont know, and i dont care less.

İts worthless, and even waste of time to join such conversations with someone doesnt know when to pull her horses.

Hahahahaha no! I love so many films, so I tried to pick some from each decade - and checked the dates they were made first However....couldn't find much at all I liked from the 1980s hehehe!

I also forgot one for my list - Pulp Fiction (1994) lol

Edit: Oppps! Sorry! I mixed the titles! That's not Zhang Yimou's film at all. (So, I am afraid we can't marry. ) The reason having made me confused is that nearly all Far East film titles are about tigers and dragons! lol

Shakesphear in Love
Little Miss Sunshine
The Royal Tenebaums

I have to say Elizabeth, I so much wanted to like "Schultze gets the blues" but I just couldn't. I thought the premise was great but it just missed something for me.
Little Miss Sunshine had some of the funniest scenes I've ever seen, but at the same time, it was really disturbing. The ending really made me wish for two hours of my life back.
Life is beautiful? Absolutely brilliant movie.

I feel very young and unexperienced about cinema when I read this thread. Im making a list of 'must have seen's I caught up a lot the past year, since Kadir is a big filmfreak, but there's so much more!

One that springs to mind for myself now is

- Mar Adentro by Alejandro Amenábar ('İçimdeki deniz').

I thought of some more:

Forest Gump
Léon
Stand by me
Life of brian
American History X (though some was unpleasant)
Rain Man
300
Bruce Lee life story

Although I haven't mention many, I like scary films but I make my husband watch them with me! I could never watch a horror on my own, I am such a chicken! Though he tells me the scary parts are over and I come out from hiding and what do I get? blood and horror!

Cinq fois deux - Not a very special film in the story itself, but the filming and the way the film was set up (5 times a couple displayed from their split up back to their getting together, so backwards) was very good.

Maybe not in a top-10 though.

Not exactly a great movie, but entertaining enough.
"About a boy" with Hugh Grant.

Comes to mind only because it seems thats how I've been living my life the last couple months. Minus the pretending I had a teenage son part of course....

ONE MORE TYPE!
How about those who just judge people by what they see instead of stereotyping and "hating" because of their culture or religion. I thought only terrorists did that

I wasn't disappoined at all Actually you are VERY WRONG about me "happily accepting" compliments - I think they are extremely embarassing and also cringy You will notice that I only comment on the insults - this isn't because I can't take criticism, but because insults are more interesting than compliments (and usually more truthful ). I dont need flattery to make me feel good about myself

The only time I have criticised you is when you are too offensive to others here. I certainly don't think that I have criticised you ANY MORE than you have me. I really love your humour, but I really hate to see people hurt here that's all.

I've got many favorite movies but I would like to recommend the following which come from different countries:

KOREA: Oldboy,Bittersweet Life

GREECE: The Brides(greek title-I Nifes),El Greco,Politiki Kouzina(dunno the english title though,it's abt Istanbul cuisine and cooking and byzantine culture)

USA: The Godfather (all time classic), Borat (sarcastic and ironic)

FRANCE: Taxi 1,2,3,4 and The Specialists (best comedies)

SPAIN: Volver (Almodovar of course)

RUSSIA: Night Watch
