Pavarotti's student Hakan Aysev, known as “Turkey's Pavarotti,” said that Pavarotti's death is a loss for humanity. “He is a legend. He was a great person,” said Aysev.

Pavarotti had the most amazing voice I have ever heard. I always get goosebumps hearing him sing.

Let's not get Pavarotti out of context! He certainly DID NOT have the greatest voice in the world, he was not the best tenor. He was also a rather unpleasant man, particularly in his later years.

However, he did bring opera to the "masses" so he deserves credit for that.

He is the most well known tenor in the world maybe..but certainly not the greatest

cat_leo -I think you must be that child in Anderson's tale who says, pointing out with his finger, "The King is naked!"

I am talking about the fact that he is Italian, so is he a national hero for you too as Ataturk is for Turkey?

No need explanation cat_leo! I got your point, and that's why I greeted your post. You are really that child in the tale.
