Tell me more about the types of sharks in Turkey. Dog fish (kopegi baluk) I think they are called in Turkish? I went swimming all across the southern coast from Dalaman to Side, Cem said the water is the wrong temperature for sharks. Hmmmm, I think he was full of it, but I have heard salinity and temperature can effect what type and whether sharks hang out in certain waters...but for the water to be devoid of them? Are there many shark attacks in Turkey like there are in Florida, California and Australia?

I thought AEnigma would find this interesting given our previous conversation regarding California's dangerous critters.
The Story and the Tiger
"It’s not every day that a 350-pound tiger breaks out of its cage and runs loose in the United States. Now imagine that tiger running rampant in a zoo and attacking three people, killing one of them and sending the other two to a hospital with bite marks and deep wounds before the animal could be shot dead by police officers."
I really am sad about the tiger as well as the man who died. This is an endangered species.
Can you imagine explaining how you got that scar? At least the guy who was mauled to death had an interesting demise.

I saw this on the news today. It was very sad to see such a wonderful creature shot dead because of the incompetence of humans. Of course, it is tragic for the people attacked - it is an horrific way to die, but I can't help thinking that when you interfere with nature and keep animals for entertainment, they will always find a way...

Animals should never be kept for human entertainment. This poor tiger was only doing what is natural...and for that...it paid it's life? That is the real tragedy!!!

I agree, I was feeling the same way when I saw it on the news. Who are we to capture animals in the wild and put them behind cages and expect them to be tamed. I'm all for humans helping the extincted animals, however I feel bad that it had to result with this tiger being killed.

We wouldn't have to "help" them in the first place if we were not destroying their habitats...I feel terrible for all the victims in this case.

I know, humans can be evil. But what do you think we should do with the abudance of deer we have here in the U.S.? It's getting terribly out of hand, I have almost wrecked my car twice now, because of these deer. It's sad we keep building and building and the deer have know where to go but neighborhoods and cities.

Encourage an active hunting season. The deer get really bad here in Texas until hunting season starts.
