wow . . . thanks everyone for the links. I love to listen to the sound of the Adhan, in Istanbul, first hand but this is better than nothing while I'm back in England. It is such a beautiful sound. But I do have a story to tell. On my first trip to Istanbul my family insisted I take a friend as they did not want me there alone (safe as houses though they wouldn't believe me). So I took a friend with me, not a Muslim. We were both very tired when we finally got to bed but my friend was up in the night with an illness she has. She finally got to sleep (through all my snoring) but not long after the sound of the adhan came drifitng through the open window and it woke her up. The next thing I know is she is shaking me violently, telling me to get up and she said "It's you he's calling, not me."

Thans again for the links.
