Not any that I know. But I think this depends on who owns the store. Some chains in my area offer Halal meat but I think they are just available in my area and at certain stores.

I have never actually eaten fast food in Turkey but I think they are all supposed to be Halal.

Quoting Roswitha: Wondering if MacDonald offers Halal food in Turkey. |
I used to think it was, but now don't think all the meat offered in Turkey is Halal. I noticed butchers that advertised Halal meat, which I took to mean there is some that is not halal....
The recent Bird Flu indicent disclosed the fact there are now factory farms in Turkey....sad...I hate the way most factory farms treat animals.

Alameda we are certainly on the same eco/compassionate path, even if we are not on the same political one always

We are probably closer than you realize. Really though, if most people realized just how those factory farm animals were treated, they probably would become vegetarians.
On another note, you know I grow a lot of things in my tiny garden. One of the things I grow are artichokes...(yum)They are a lot of work to grow and very susceptible to aphids. It's a pretty plant, so it can be decorative as well as edible.
Anyway, I have to hose the blossoms down every day to control the aphids as they are an aphid magnet. When you find them in the store there are no aphids on them. It makes me wonder what they do to control them.
My family has been growing them for three generations, so there is a lot of experience with growing them.
BTW, the small ones are the most tasty. You can eat the whole thing. It's one little artichoke heart.

I adore artichokes....and use them a lot in my cooking. Good luck with them....I will remember what a pain they are to grow the next time I am enjoying them.

Hmmm...yum...how do you cook them? Do you get the large ones, or the small ones?
FWIW, I only cook the small ones. I cut top thorns off, trim the outer leaves, or remove some of them. They are then put in water with olive oil, vinegar lemon and lots of halved garlic cloves.
Did you see artichokes in Turkey? They sell just the cleaned bottom so they are ready to stuff.
