Harsh sounds of drilling and/or sawing coming from outside :-S why do people get to make most noise when it's too hot to keep the windows closed?

BETTER - Plumb
(oh i adore this song!)

...I don't want to care
And I don't want to hate
And I don't want to see you fall too far away
All because of fear
'Cause when you're afraid
You lash out at me
When you say all the things that you never meant to say
And try to break me

But in the end, what leaves you broken
In the end, makes you better, yeah
...................
Yeah, I don't want to hate
I don't want to be broken
I don't want to hate you
I don't want to hate
I don't want to be broken
I don't want to hate you...

Terri Clark -- She Didn't Have Time

He said goodbye from the edge of the porch like she'd been some casual friend
He said "You're better off without me, I'm not what you need", like her mama had said about him
He started the car, pulled out of the drive, didn't waste any time lookin' back
She watched him go, thinkin' even a stranger would show more compassion than that

She could have cried, but she didn't have time
She had a baby to feed, a pink blanket to find, to rock their little one to sleep
She could have laid in bed for hours, givin' misery the power
But she didn't have time

She got a sitter, and she got a job, 'cause she had a promise to keep
Her day was a factory and evening survival, and night was exhaustion and sleep
Sometimes she felt life was passin' her by, and watchin' was all she could do
Her friends said, "You gotta get outta the house, and maybe you'll meet someone new."

She could have tried, but she didn't have time
She had a five year old to feed, she had ballet class, piano lessons, and T-ball little league
She could have laid awake for hours, givin' lonely nights the power
But she didn't have time

Not time, where would she find the time to trust a man again
Not time, for that flat tire, a crowded parking lot and then
Not time, but yes, have coffee with the man that got her tire fixed
She was thinkin', "Gosh, he's handsome", when he asked,
"Do you have a kids?"

She could have lied, but she didn't have time
All she said was, "She's five". He said, "I saw the car set, I love kids, does she have your eyes?"
And they sat and talked for hours, givin' destiny its power
She could have been afraid to fall in love that night
But she did't have time

She could have been afraid to fall in love that night
But she didn't have time

Opeth - To Bid You Farewell

I am awaiting the sunrise
Gazing modestly through the coldest morning
Once it came you lied
Embracing us over autumn's proud treetops
I stand motionless
In a parade of falling rain
Your voice I cannot hear
As I am falling again
Devotion eludes
And in sadness I lumber
In my own ashes I am standing without a soul
She wept and whispered: "I know..."
We walked into the night
Am I to bid you farewell?
Why can't you see that I try
When every tear I shed
Is for you?
