Actually it is Christians who highjacked the pagan holiday of Noel which celebrates the winter solstice. Traditions like Christmas Trees and present giving are not Christian. In fact, Christ was not born on 25th December so is not a capricorn .

It was seen as a convenient time to merge both celebrations.

+1
its a pleasure to read this. and im surprised you knew it
unfortunately many people reject the truth!

Christians are very good at hijacking with the thought that "if you can't beat them, join them". Many pagan Godesses were later named as saints. Like the the goddess for home and hearth "Brid" was changed into St. Bridget. There are many examples of this happening in early Christianity. But, I digress.....Hope everyone enjoys the remaining holiday season.

lol right!
you know, not only christians are hijackers! not only them plagiate, believe me

heard of the same speculations with easter (they refer it to ishtar goddess)
