The world chess champion 1969-1972 passed away in Iceland yesterday.

He was half-Jewish yet he hated Jews. He made a lot of statements about Jews which I will not dare to quote here but they can all be found here

What an amazing character. I read the article about his dead this morning in the guardian:
article
Death of a madman driven sane by chess

"what made him a great player also made him impossible human being"

About 9/11:
"This is all wonderful news," he announced live on Filipino radio. "I applaud the act. The US and Israel have been slaughtering the Palestinians, just slaughtering them, for years. Robbing them and slaughtering them. Nobody gave a shit. Now it's coming back to the US. Fuck the US. I want to see the US wiped out. Death to the US."

"chess and world title meant so much for him that he could not bear the prospect of losing'

"in 1975, against Karpov, he demanded open ended match in which the winner would have won 10 games with draws not counting, a match potentially could take months or even years"

I know, you did not like what he said about 9/11 catwoman.

I wont agree with what he said as a whole but I would agree with the bits:
"The US and Israel have been slaughtering the Palestinians, just slaughtering them, for years. Robbing them and slaughtering them. Nobody gave a shit"

Poor old Bobby, boring chess player who denounced his US citizenship (not that well publicised at the time of 9/11) dies and suddenly he is a hero who was in great need of a shave!

Sorry to avid chess players, but chess it one of the most senseless, boring games ever thought of - ranks somewhere with monopoly for me! How can anyone sit for that long? lol

He is still a respected man in the chess world and considered GOAT by many.

I don't agree with your last statement. Sometimes they discuss a single position for days or weeks (or years in some cases). There are some discussion boards for a single match with thousands of posts. Apperantly they don't find it boring.

Catwoman, How can you get it so dreadfully wrong? Your psycho-analysis classes are failing you. Don't you see you have got it wrong, so wrong! You are missing the similarities, the feeble attempt at being funny, the copycat post - a little list, a few dots, and bit more a list............................. he is not married to me, he is married Aenigma!

p.s. what is go fish? Am I missing something exciting?

I thought it's based on "opposites attract each other"... plus he admitted that you're married...
Am I really that bad at psychoanalysis? I just accepted being bad at mind-reading and now there's another blow.
