Today is supposed to be the most depressing day of the year (in the UK) because:

1) Christmas and New Year is over (and been a let down for some)
2) The credit card bills start arriving today and many people have over spent at Christmas
3) The weather is horrible, dark mornings and dark nights, raining, grey
4) And those people who suffer from SAD are feeling at their most depressed (SAD = Seasonal Adjustive Disorder)
5) and finally it is Monday..............

and so the experts tell us, we are at our worst today

so how do you feel?

Me? I feel less happy than normal, mostly to do with the miserable weather I need sunshine

Well they are right Libralady - today is the most depressing. I have not spent on my credit cards, I am not mourning the passing of Christmas or New Year, it is getting lighter 1 min every day, I have daffodils in my garden, I didn't have to work today... and yet today is DEFINITELY yuck

Unless you have shares or a share linked pension, it will not affect you yet. If it causes recession for a while, it is no bad thing in my opinion. It is about time this greedy, me-generation curbed their spending for a while! lol

I didn't say it would not affect us ... I said "YET"! Yes, it is a bad thing, but it is a fact that we have been borrowing too much on credit. Recessions are temporary, and of course they are bad for business, but socially it can be a good thing.

how i feel today

Life it seems, will fade away
Drifting further every day
Getting lost within myself
Nothing matters no one else
I have lost the will to live
Simply nothing more to give
There is nothing more for me
Need the end to set me free

Things not what they used to be
Missing one inside of me
Deathly lost, this Can t be real
Cannot stand this hell I feel
Emptiness is filling me
To the point of agony
Growing darkness taking dawn
I was me, but now he 's gone

No one but me can save myself, but it's too late
No, I can't think, think why I should even try
Yesterday seems as though it never existed
Death Greets me warm, now I will just say goodbye

I have a surprise for you Turquoise....no matter how old you get, inside that child remains....saying...but but I'm only 18, or 5 or 8 or 4...the older one gets, the louder that child protests.

Ouhhhhhh that is so true! I remember once my great-grandmother telling me that she STILL feels like a child, and would still love to go to "dances" and parties the same as when she was a teenager - only her old body was stopping her. She was 92 at the time

Its kind of sad, and kind of nice...
