If you are a female driver and pass a dolmus, taxi or truck be sure their ego will wounded and they will try to do something extremely stupid to show you who is the king of the road if he catches up with you.

I am afraid there are some jerks like that in the UK too. I drive quite a sporty car and frquently find myself in "contest" on the roads with male egotists. Mostly I let them pass or just get out of their way....but one in five times, if I am in the right mood, I take them on.

It is a dangerous thing to do because their egos will STOP AT NOTHING to get enough speed to pass you One guy followed me all the way to my home once just because I had the audacity to overtake him. Very sinister.

The best bit is revving up with them at the traffic lights - and BEATING THEM

İts same here too,but with dolmus, taxi or truck drivers,if you are a good driver you get their admiration and congratulate you of how good driver you are,and some dont accept it too lol
İf you are bad or did something wrong, you take that look 'woman is driving'
But,with regular male drivers when they find you good driver ,they race you,and they dont stop till they pass you...mostly i dont give them that pleasure, except if im close to my home,i slow doown and make them pass.
İ guess it has something to do with their MANLY ego, they just dont accept a woman passing them !

İ was going to attend a conference with my manager each of us took his car 'we were in groups',i found my manager started to race me ,i've took it,i passed him once ,he passed me the other, till we were near the conference,i've let him take it,he congratulated me,and told me that im a good driver even i didnt win
İ told him,i know,i just let you because you are THE BOSS lol

Turkish male drivers are simply horrible, worst I've ever seen! I'm not kidding.

Feminism mode on..

what is that? i've never seen it.
anyways, that's the truth, turks are crazy drivers, they know no rules and would kill you when you're crossing the street on green lights!

you know, here is Turkey. if u r a pedestrian or a driver in Turkey, you have to conform with these disobedience to the traffic rules. cuz traffic rules in Turkey are created not to obey.

anyway...

Well, actually,i hate women drivings too, driving me NUTS on the roads

Ama, ama.... neden?

Well,i tend to speed a bit,and i've learnt to calculate the road while learning to drive
Meaning to estimate distances for up 5 cars a head of me watch thier behaviour to be secure
With women, you cant predict their behaviour there, when will they be worried of something and hit the break!
So i be more worried and tense when woman drives near me.

Actually Canli, whether you meant it or not, you did offend me by insinuating that women are magically some weird creatures who are incompatible with life on earth and cannot drive like "normal" people, which would be men.

Well,im a woman cat,so i dont think i've said all of those!

But come to driving ,im afraid its true for some reasons like the ones i've stated in a post above
Not all women of course, but many.
Women tend to be cautious, and they've made researches about it as i recall, for example in most women's accidents you find her car has been hit from the back not from the front because she tend to protect her car from the front and hit the break
Unlike men careless and speedy,so you find it either hit from the front,or both ways.

Anyways

I'm not going to comment on men vs women driving cup as I'm the lousiest driver you've ever seen (I haven't driven for over 10 years so don't worry about me running into you on the way). However, I remember what my Turkish friend who'd been working in Poland told me about driving. Apparently, when he moved to Poland, the most difficult part for him to understand was that the STOP sign was actually an imperative not a suggestion

Women can NOT drive in Turkey.
Also it is true that Men can NOT drive in Turkey, too.

I consider myself a very good driver. For the last 7 years I spent on roads, I only got one parking ticket and that was because my resident sticker was expired

But let me tell you what happens when I drive in Turkey.

1st day (me driving my wife scared):

HomeSick: What!!, fck!! what is he doing!!
Wife : Be calm, be calm, relax! relax!

2nd Day:
HomeSick: Did you see that idiot!! ?
Wife: I wish I didn't.

Many days after, before travelling from Ankara to Istanbul:
HomeSick: We will be in Istanbul for the weekend.
A friend: Do you have the radar map?
HomeSick: What is a radar map?
A friend: The map of radars on your way to Istanbul you alien! I will email it to you before you go..

On the highway, travelling at a speed at least 100 miles an hour and time to time it can be 140 miles per hour.

Wife: Slow down! slow down!
HomeSick: Dear, would you please turn off the air condition, we need more horse power. He is gaining on me.
Damn Subarus!! He must have modified it, no way he is gaining distance on me on that junk.
Wife: What you need a good slap on your face if not a kick on your ass. We are changing seats. I will drive, you became one of them.

This seems funny, but it is also sad and true.
