In a Europe where an estimated 10 million Euro-Turks will live, will Turkey itself be a part of the EU starting 1 January 2014?

Good question
If we judge from most of the posts here from Turks, they do not want it. As far as the rest of Europe is concerned, I think it will make little difference except the 10 million Turks living in the EU will increase to 10 billion lol

I don't think TC will ever be a part of the EU. I also don't believe that AKP really wants that either !

From what I know, the educated people want to join EU, the uneducated people dont really care or have no idea, and the nationalistic ones (who can be part of both groups ofcourse), dont want to join because of their turkishness. These are my thoughts after having spoken on this matter with many Turks during my stay in Turkey, reading newspapers and from internet.

The more I read about the pro's and contra's, the less I get an idea what is best..

I recently saw a documentary about children hospitals in Bulgaria, and I wondered: if they have been able to enter, then why is it so hard for Turkey..

I would want them to enter, but I have only personal reasons for this. An objective reason regarding 'official, economic, legal and sociologial' arguments, I have yet been unable to figure out my real opinion. I am not a very Pro-thinker, but my main thought is 'why not?'.

this was a good post.

me neither pro one.
as for eu, if it keeps the current politics it should die.

as for uneducated, then it seems they are the majority lol

i actually dont like the turkish opinion i.e. very childish, precisely duduish.
you read the dudu translation and you have the general political viewpoints of turks.
the turks demand is : take me as i am or goodbye.

turks: we will not change anything, our turkishness is more important than our lives.
eu: well, then we cant let you in.
turks: you dont love us, you are jealous of our glorious country, of our turkishness.
eu: no, we want you to change your laws, and work more towards democracy.
turks: hell with your democracy! f... off!
eu: hmmmmm....

EU : You Turks screwed us up on the battlefield for ages, and we nourish hatred for this. You want to join to our holy dogshits club ? Allright, What we need is to change your laws and let your own people to insult everything and to divide your county by ethnicities . We call it democracy what we offer to you. But you Turks never forget this : When democracy not suits us, we can easily turn a deaf ear, but you don't !

Turks: hmmmmmm

A joke :

In one of the EU countries, at a train station, a local man brags with his country, and tells to a Turk how their train schedules are punctual.

He says , "2 minutes later train will be at the staion."
5 minnutes later train did not arrive yet.

A local man loses his temper : But you Turks are barbarians as well !
