Fantastic movie, Roswitha. Daniel Day Lewis is a phenominal actor...I have loved him since My Left Foot. What amazes me about him is that he is a really good looking man in real life and in some roles, the ugliness of the character he is playing comes right thru. It is amazing to see somebody with that ability.

REPEATING MY QUESTIONS: Is this movie playing also in Turkey now?

There Will Be Blood is a 2007 film directed, written, and produced by Paul Thomas Anderson. The film is inspired by Upton Sinclair's novel Oil! (1927), and tells the story of Daniel Plainview's quest for power in Southern California's oil boom of the late-19th and early-20th centuries. It stars Daniel Day-Lewis and Paul Dano. Shooting began in mid-May 2006 in New Mexico and Marfa, Texas, with principal photography wrapping August 24, 2006. The first public screening was on September 29, 2007, at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas. The film was released on December 26, 2007, in New York and Los Angeles, and then opened in a limited number of theaters in selected markets. It opened in wide release January 25, 2008.

The film received significant critical praise and numerous award nominations and wins. It appeared on many critics' "top ten" lists for the year, namely the National Society of Film Critics and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. Many Best Actor Awards including a BAFTA, Golden Globe, and the Screen Actors' Guild went to Daniel Day-Lewis for his performance, and the film has been nominated for numerous Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Why did you particularly want to know if it is showing in Turkey Roswitha? Is it relevant to Turkey in any way or are you just recommending it as a really good film? (Luckily our cinema shows quite a few films in English with Turkish sub-titles as well as original Turkish language films so I hope to see it soon)

If nobody answers your question, maybe they don't care about the movie. Why is this so important to you?

You know Deli....There has been too much blood, I guess I'm just experiencing a psychological reaction to seeing the word blood in There will be Blood makes my blood boil.

I don't want any more blood spilt. I want peace, love and harmony....I'm very concerned about the situation now with the Turkish Military/PKK stuff and upset now.

I have no political opinion, I only know people are suffering and that makes me cranky.
