Merhaba,

hey.. by the way..
if on the tape which my turkish will be recored on, i am speaking in a more informal way will this effect my mark?
for eg: geliyom, gidiyom etc.
also, if i am given a scenario where i have to reply to someone should i use the formal version?
for eg: ... soyluyorsunuz??
thanks in advance

ive looked at some of the questions and although i do understand most of it i dont understand all of it!!
im really scared now that im going to fail!!
what can i do to prepare??
are there are words or phrases which would crop up alot in these kind of exams??
aahh help me!! i cant fail this.. i want to make my family proud of me!!
i mean, lets take the first question from the writing section.. i have gathered that its asking me to find the opposite word and right the correct letter in the box although i dont know what all the words mean!!
what are the chances that something like this will come up on my paper??

ok look now.. lets take this sentence.. i have a vague idea of what it could mean and maybe if soemone said it to me in conversation i would know what they are trying to say although i am really getting scared now when i dont understand fully!!
please someone, explain to me how this sentence is constructed and give me more examples using the same structure.. i will then go away and do some of my own, and bring them back for marking ok?
this is really important that i know how to do this!!
anyway.. i talk too much (well.. in english! hihi) here is the given sentence in the exam:
"sevgi hayata katılma isteği verir
thanks so much in advance xxxxxxxxx

in regards to this exam: how would i say
"he wants everyone to learn to love each other" ??
i know this is not the exact paper i do although this is another sentence form which i need toget the hang of..
could it be sth. like, herkesin birbirlerini sevmesini öğrenmesini istiyor..??
omg.. thats so wrong isnt it?
i have just shown myself up so badly!! that looks so wrong to me!! off ya off... bana yardım edin!!!

Never use "geliyom, gidiyom" They're not even informal, because in İstanbul no one uses them, just maybe some uneducated immigrants. I just sometimes use them during some funny chats.
The some informal ways I suggest you to use are:
geliyorum: same (don't say geliyom)
geliyorsun: geliyosun (don't say geliyon)
geliyorlar: geliyolar
geliyoruz: same (don't say geliyoz)
geleceğim: gelicem (don't say gelecem)
geleceksin: gelicen or geliceksin(don't say gelecen or gelcen)
gideceğim: gidicem (don't use gitcem, gitçem, gidecem)
geleceğiz: gelicez (don't say gelcez)
Mostly, in daily dialogs, informal ones are used, but they should be used in a good way, otherwise I advise you to use the formal.
And always use "siz" for "you" unless you talk to a friend,or a family member.

Yes, you have did such a complicated sentence right. Tebrikler! But herkes is used as a singular. So it would be more right, if it were
Herkesin birbirini sevmesini öğrenmesini istiyor.

Another alternative would be: "Herkesin birbirini sevmeyi öğrenmesini istiyor."

I think in speaking test there will be definately something about touristic themes such as a holiday, trips, planes, tickets, airports, taxis, hotels, beaches and restourants etc.
Other tests could have any subject. You need to increase your vocabulary to understand the text. It is not possible to know on what area the reading/understanding text could be. It could be anything. I suggest to improve your vocabulary. The best way to improve your vocabulary is not speaking. The best way is reading. The second best way is listening. I don't suggest listening as it is not easy to find something suitable to listen.
Forget about most TV programs and radio channels. They don't use more than 500 words anyway.
Okumak yeni kelimeler öğrenmek için çok faydalı olur. Normal bir sözlük kullanmanı öneririm.
Daily conversations will not help at all. They will help on speaking part but this part is already very easy. The important parts are the ones that start with a long essay. Afterwards you will be required either to answer some questions about the essay or to write another essay (on a given subject) taking the first one as an example.

i see.. hopefully i will not be asked to write an essay in turkish myself!! if i can improve my vocabulary that would be great.. im guessing that learning new verbs would benefit me..?
are there any articles or such which you reccommend me to read which would be beneficial?
also, can u please give me the english and turkish of phrases like, "please right in full sentences" etc. so tht these will not be a problem..?
im sure that you know the kind of thngs which crop up on exams considering you are a teacher!
thanks in advance
