What is the life philosophy or way of life or approach of the western women about the education, occupation, family, employment status, living situation, Political view, economic sufficiency, religion, happiness, success, friendship and marriage?

Are moral and family and humanistic values vanishing in the west? Are they becoming materialist? I don't think so...What is your opinion?

PS.Türkiye's culture is conservative in general.

You don't think it's possible to answer, do you? lol

There is not a uniform way of life for western women. Some go for careers, some for family, some for both. There are many well-educated women but there are also women with only the compulsory education. Some women's goal is to have a family, some don't consider it important. Some are liberal, some conservative. Some religious, some not. Some are happy and some miserable. As for marriage...well..I don't know a single woman who was forced to marry (even if they were pregnant) but I can't speak for all Western Women. But I know a couple of guys who had to marry a girl after they knocked her up

Sorry Yilgun, your question is way too broad to answer.

There is no ONE answer to your question Yilgun, because, of course, we are free to do whatever we choose.

How might YOU answer the question "What is the life philosophy or way of life or approach of Eastern men about the education, occupation, family, employment status, living situation, Political view, economic sufficiency, religion, happiness, success, friendship and marriage? " ???

I'm a bit too young to remember the 50s but I come from Poland and, you know, the pope was Polish, Poles are 89% Catholic and blah blah blah...some men just can't handle the pressure lol

We are what we choose to be. Our lifestyle is our own destiny and it is not tied to a father, brother, or husband. Our fate is only limited to our abilities and determination. In other words yilgun....we are what we say we are.

Most women are able to choose -
*Education - university and good careers are there for the taking, but some girls (I say girls at this stage) would rather leave school at 16 and lead a chotic lifestyle have children but more than one father

*Occupation - many occupations are open to women if they wish to pursue but above points also counts! No occupation apart from deliver children!

*Family - some have strong ties other weak and if they want chilren, again they can keep their career if they wish or descend into the depths of despair and live off social security

*Employment - see occupations

*Living situation - many live single lives, with a boyfriend at a distance, many own their own homes or live with their parents - the choice is there

*Polictical view - we all have one!

*Economic sufficiency - see occupations and living situation

*Religion - varies greatly, depending on your background or your lifestyle. Of course in the UK we have all the religions you could ever imagine!

*Happiness - can't answer that one, depends on so many other factors

*Success - same as above

*Friendship - most women have as many male friends as female friends with no ties, meaning they wont have sex with the male friends (or the females ones
)

*Marriage - is a becoming less common, with one in three becoming divorce. Living together is more common really and less problematic. You can make rules before just like a marriage. And of course we have same sex partnerships in the UK now so that the relationship has the same legal binding as a marriage.

You forgot to mention sex - an important part of any womans life, married or not!!

All of the above relates to the UK and is mostly my opinion, and not necessarily fact. Other women from the UK might have a different opinion. (That is my disclaimer

lol )

Women in the U.S.

Education: Education is just as important to women as it is to men. Your class rooms are filled with females seeking careers.

Occupation: Women can hold any occupation a man can..from Doctors, lawyers, astronauts, executives to construction workers.

Family: Some families still have the every Sunday dinner with their relatives. Then you have families who are so busy with their kids in sports, that carry out is their means of sitting down at a kitchen table. Holidays are spent with family and friends typically by most Americans. I don't think we value family the same way as other countries may.

Employment Status: Unemployment is extremely low in the U.S., heck McDonalds is hiring down the street for $10.00 an hour. Women today still have careers and families. The cost of daycare also is an indicator to some women whether holding a job or staying at home is a better option.

Living Situation: Women are very independant, if their single they may rent an apartment, own a condo or even a house. They leave home at the age of 18-21 to attend school and either live in a dorm on campus or an apartment with a friend. Some who are involved in relationships will live in "SIN" as my mother would say.

Political View: Various political views. "Fox & Friends"

Success, happiness, friendship & marriage: You can lump these all together, they all have some relevance to eachother.

As i read some posts before, this a very odd question, and i think i would have to write a book to answer it!... Western women are what we choose to be, we can study and persue a career or we can choose to have a family and stay home, we can even choose to do both... we can be religious if we want, if we don't want, we are not... we can have as many friends as we like regarding gender, and as i read before that doesn't mean we will have sex with them... we can be economic sufficient and sometimes make more money than men, if we want... Western women are not the same all... we all are different and we will live our lives as we choose to... so there's no pattern that makes our behaviours... we are more free to choose what we want in life... definitely all of us are different from one another...

I think the main difference is that western women seem to be more confident, less obedient and more feminist (even if they are scared shitless of labeling themselves as feminist) then "eastern" women. Most of them at least.

A WOMAN who was trafficked across the border from Pakistan with her son, 3, was handed to an Afghan who raped her, then beat the toddler to death as she watched.
He was jailed for 20 years for murder - but the woman, Rukhma, was jailed, too.

She had put up with her mistreatment for three months before going to authorities.

But in December, Rukhma, who doesn't know her age but looks younger than 20, was given a four-year sentence for adultery and "escaping her house" in Pakistan.

The Taliban's fall six years ago heralded new rights for women: to go to school or get a job.

Their rights are now enshrined in the constitution.

But except for a small urban elite, a woman fleeing domestic violence or accusing a man of rape herself often ends up seen as the guilty party.

"Why am I here? I'm innocent," Rukhma said, crying in a musty cell and cradling a baby daughter she bore in jail.

"It is cruel to have your son killed before your eyes and then to be imprisoned."

In parts of Afghanistan and Pakistan, a woman who runs away is typically suspected of having taken a lover and can be prosecuted for adultery.

Leaving home without family permission may be deemed an offence.

The chief prosecutor of eastern Nangarhar province, who oversaw Rukhma's case, suggested she got off lightly.

"If my wife goes to the bazaar without my permission, I will kill her. This is our culture," Abdul Qayum shouted scornfully.

His colleagues laughed approvingly. "This is Afghanistan, not America," Mr Qayum said.

Kamala Janakiram, a UN human rights officer, said that in 70 to 80 per cent of cases she has seen, a woman complaining of domestic violence is charged as a criminal.

The UN Office on Drugs and Crime said many victims are forced to marry attackers or jailed for adultery, as proving rape is virtually impossible.

Women can end up in prison simply on the basis of gossip, said Manizha Naderi, director of Women for Afghan Women.

Fear of returning to a violent spouse drives some women to suicide.

Rukhma is still hoping an appeal will free her.

Prosecutor Qayum in unrepentant: "She spent several nights with the man. She committed adultery. It was rape, but the woman is also guilty."

OK, handsom, don't get your hair in a knot!

My grandmother used to have a saying, "All men are the same, some just have nicer faces!" I guess the same could be said for anyone, man or woman, but it makes me laugh to think of her saying it. In reality, I have known a few wonderful and enlightened men...though they have been few and far between. I have a little boy and I hope when he grows up, he is one of the enlightened ones.

There is a well respected theory that the desire for submissive women is tightly correlated with the men's psychological insecurities, lack of sexual performance skills, lack of healthy self esteem, unresolved childhood issues... and so on... :-S (really nothing to publicly announce Mr. handsom...)

Why should I?
It is a well known fact that behind all those sayings about freedom, equality and blah blah, all feminists want one thing which is to be on the top.

Even Simone de Beauvoir, apperantly, confessed that before she died.

I remember reading this survey a couple of weeks ago about women who call themselves feminists. it was found that 60 % of them were hairy, 76% of did have short legs, 84 % did have small boobs, 96% of them did not have a partner at the time of survey.

No wonder why they are so bitter!!

Too bad that you are taken because I am deeply in love with you!!!

(it is well known that men feel intimidated by strong women, so it's clear that these men have low self esteem and feel inadequate, therefore need a partner who would not dare to challenge them in anything. so what they do is convince themselves that feminists are hairy and angry to demonize them and dismiss their rational arguments before even listening to any of it, because they know that they have no chance to win.

Too bad that you are taken because I am deeply in love with you!!!

(it is well known that men feel intimidated by strong women, so it's clear that these men have low self esteem and feel inadequate, therefore need a partner who would not dare to challenge them in anything. so what they do is convince themselves that feminists are hairy and angry to demonize them and dismiss their rational arguments before even listening to any of it, because they know that they have no chance to win.
handsom - does this ring a bell? )

first thank you cat!! and second, we should definitely write a book! that is an awesome post!!! some men can just not stand the fact of having a partner that is "more" succesfull, good looking, or intelligent than them, just because they are afraid to feel "less" than her, not realizing that "succes", "good looks" and "intelligence" are probably what makes them a good partner, and probably will help them to raise their own expectations about themseleves and off course become better human beings... There's nothing better than a man that approaches a girl with the enough confidence to know he can conquer her heart, and not being intimidated by anything of her... and yes you are right, men that think feminists as hairy and angry are probably men that have low self steem and still believe women have to be always under... not realizing we are the ones that give birth, take care of house, have a career, raise kids, take care of them and our partner, help them and support them in everything they need, help them take important decissions (this list could actually go on and on)... is not that men doesn't have their own tasks in life, but ours are more meaningful and underestimated... :-S ... i just enjoy when men are wise enough to understand men and women are the same... and to finish my post is not like us women (or feminists women) think that macho-men are hairy or baldies or angry or calm, or big or small or anything.... we just don't think in this kind of things... we have more interesting things to think about lol

yeah yeah.
You can write a book called "effective waxing for hairy ladies". I am sure all feminists will buy it. And I am sure you will spend the money you make, on plastic surgery and boob job.
And about approaching to confident women:
Thank you very much!!..
we dont want to approach those. We like to approach to girls who look compliant, non hairy and with long legs. And at the same time they will assure us that we can play the role almighty nature gave us, which is to protect women. We want to have the feeling that 'we are protecting you'.

About helping us making important decisions, thank you very much again. I dont think we need help really..

Actually the handsome raised a very interesting point regarding cosmetic surgery and the increase in the number of clinics providing treatments such as liposuction, tummy tucks, botox injections and breast enhancements etc.Is this just a western woman thing or do women all over the world participate?

bydand.... I am pondering whether I should respond this or not... obviously an ignorant question! just a hint for you... it's MEN who participate most in this stuff - they manufacture it, advertise, they own the industry, brainwash women/girls (even make ups and thongs 10 year old girls), they validate it.... etc etc. most women would dump this shit in a second if the patriarchy didn't make them feel like the only thing that matters is that they look like stupid barbie dolls.

I don't think that only shallow, looks-obsessed women go for plastic surgeries. Sure, if a woman has a barbie doll as a role-model and has numerous surgeries just to look like it then she should undergo a psychotherapy. But there are millions of women undergoing plastic surgeries in different countries who do it to correct something about them they're dissatisfied with. My friend had an ears correction. Nobody noticed that at work, but now she's free to wear a ponytail instead of letting her hair down all the time.

Plastic surgeries are no different from going to a beautician. It's great if you don't need them and it's sick if you are obsessed with them. Claiming that men invented them to control women is naive. Do we wear make-up, go to hairdressers or spend time removing hair from different parts of our bodies because men expect it from us? Come on, they are not that complicated. Us being the opposite sex is enough to turn them on.

you completely missed my point canim I haven't claimed any of the things you said.
yes, of course people want to take care of themselves, but the extent to which women feel pressured to "take care of themselves" is not just their own imagination and a big part of is is men's expectations.

Oh that! lol Well, any women who feel like growing up to men's standard should simply get naked - that's way cheaper than going for a surgery and the risk is smaller too (unless it's winter and they are outside)

awww poor you, waiting for someone's post to make yourself feel better, and try to lower down our self-steem... Not this time little man, i happen to agree that surgery is good when someone needs it (either men or women), and sick when someone is obsessed with it... fortunately for me (and my incredible good-looking boyfriend), unfortunately for you, God made me amazingly gorgeous enough , so i dont need any surgery at all... ... and we have to be realistic, men always put looks first to choose their girls, in exchange we look inside of men to chose our lover... No wonder why we see many couples, where the girl is really good-looking and the man looks like a slob... (well... sometimes the opposite can happen hehe)...

Glad I don't meet those criteria (or most of them anyway)! lol

yeah yeah
we very well know what point you are trying to make.
But It does not change the below facts..does it?
it was found that 60 % of them were hairy, 76% of did have short legs, 84 % did have small boobs, 96% of them did not have a partner at the time of survey.

And I looked at kemale's picture..peh..
I bet it is either not her or the picture is digitally enhanced to get rid of the hair from her chin and upper lips.
If above is not true, I bet her legs are too short and not straight (may be even like old skoda back tyres)

And also I bet you both dont have a boy friend.

Actually,not only about you cat

İ dont address handsom for 2 reasons actually,
First, what he said about that statistic, wasnt new,its something men use to say many years ago since the feminist movements have started, and many times also till now to justify those movements even to themselves
''those are bunch of women who are having problems in their lives, but normal women,OUR women are happy the way they are!''
So,to me best reply to it,is to smile and TOTALLY ignore it ,at same time the number of women fighting, and taking their rights growing, the feminist movments getting stronger...what best reply better than this ?!
İf they want to stay living in their ignorance...so be it
İts men's problems to deal with it,not mine !

Second,as i said in my previous post,i prefer the other version...so i wont BOTHER replying

İnsulting, fighting, shouting, yelling are men's style, they are actually the best in it specially when they are helpless and dont have anything to say
,so i dont think we should follow this style,we better leave it to them !

Totally agree with you... that's why i said, i have more interesting things to do... Bravo!

Oh that! lol Well, any women who feel like growing up to men's standard should simply get naked - that's way cheaper than going for a surgery and the risk is smaller too (unless it's winter and they are outside)

I think you are not getting my point again.

And what's there to miss - you're saying it's men's fault that women undergo plastic surgeries. I believe you're giving them too much credit. They're too stupid and primitive for it lol

I wonder if any of you ladies are familiar with the English expression 'wind-up' - because I'm pretty sure that's what's been going on here!
