I want to thank you as well. I see many people use different forms and I was confused about the usage of "afraid" and agree.

In English, 'afraid' is used here to mean 'I am sorry' - 'I'm sorry, I didn't get it right', 'I'm sorry, I don't hear you' = 'I apologise for not getting it right', 'I apologise for not hearing you'.
Often we might use both and say 'Sorry, I am afraid I didn't hear you'!

I think you would use 'Affedersiniz' or maybe 'Kusura bakmayin'.
As for the 'Sorry, I am afraid' together - I was just illustrating how English never only uses one word when it can use two or more!!!
