İ mean 'get' here as same as in this sentence i know it mean understand and we can translate it like this,but is there a translation for 'get' in Turkish ?! |
I think you would use 'Affedersiniz' or maybe 'Kusura bakmayin'.
As for the 'Sorry, I am afraid' together - I was just illustrating how English never only uses one word when it can use two or more!!!

İ dont think we can use KORKARIM here,it wont give the same meaning
Here afraid is something like im worry because i dont hear you well
İts not real fear
So can we say ,AFEDERSİNİZ,kaygıyım SİZİ DUYAMADIM ?
Or something like that ?

Thanks LR,thats new one to me,and its very close also 'Kusura bakmayin' i mean
İ believe then in translation like
Sorry,im afraid i dont hear you
We can say,Affedersiniz,Kusura bakmayin seni dinlemiyorum

"Affedersin(iz)" is more used in order to call attention. For example, you need to know the time but you don't have a watch. So you may ask time to someone:
"Affedersiniz, saatiniz var mı?"
If you can speak Turkish, you may check TDK
If there is something bad (maybe your failure but not very bad or you are not regretful because of that), you can say "kusura bakma(yın)"
