The Royal Military Police are investigating a new allegation against British troops in Iraq after a 14-year-old Iraqi detained in 2003 with a group of looters claimed he was sexually abused.

The teenager, named only as Hassan, has made a full statement in which he alleged he was forced to indulge in oral sex with a fellow detainee while British soldiers watched.

I heard about that on the news today. HORRIBLE!!!! I hope that poor boy is able to get over the atrocities committed against him. He will need help.

What is happening to humanity? I'm so sorry for this.

maybe tens of thousands... These are only the tip of the iceberg. We will never know how many Iraqis were killed tortured and raped as long as America and Europe are superpowers.

Those soldiers should be judged and sentenced for their crimes, if the accusation is true, they should never leave jail! It is horrible what instincts in a human being war provokes. And war is no justification for acting worse than animals!

I hope these men are punished hard for their crimes. It is truly revolting. I am very happy also that it is in the press. There is such much abuse going on all over the world, in every country, by all different kinds of people, the more it is unearthed the better. I feel upset that these few soilders who carry out these atrocities, "represent" in the eyes of people in those places, the humanity of British people !

Much abuse is hidden from our eyes by so many walks of life. The abuse from soilders, and the abuse of some Afgan fathers in selling their small daughters (aged 9 some of them) to be married off to older men.

All of it is wrong and these people need help.

I think it is completely disgusting what this boy had to endure at the hands of
his captors. When this sort of incident happens it should be exposed and those responsible should be severly punished. I also agree that we need more transparanceyin the military, however do not judge many by the actions of few. I know people in the services who are outraged by this incident.

I think we should also be thankful that we have a military police force who are unafraid to investigate their own troops and a media who are free to print and comment on this horrible incident without censorship or government intervention.

Keeping ANY abuse in the open means that it will be reported and not kept "secret" - be it abuse on this scale, or abuse within families.

Hijacking a thread implies I am trying to change the subject of that thread - which I am not.

I think this is something YOU are more guilty of when you see any criticism of Turkey - you just change the subject by finding something equally bad that the US or UK have done.

You have even done it in this thread - checkmate lol lol lol

It is bare that you simply did that. I dont see that why are you always implying what happens in east?

Is it making the soldiers in Iraq less guilty, because of what they have done?

Why do you always go on a comparing what you have done and whats going on in Turkey?

And that's the difference - if US/EU soldiers commit a crime, their own governments try them, judge them and punish them and US/EU media shows it instead of trying to conceal it censoring access to information. If Turkish soldiers did the same, would what they did be as clear in Turkish media or not?

Your link doesn't open (at least on my laptop). But, does it mean that the western world doesn't speak about the crimes of their soldiers and doesn't judge them for them? I'd appreciate it if, for ONCE, you gave an argumentative answer instead of linking things. We love it that you consider us morons unable to google even the simplest issues like what a congress is, but that's your style, be it. I know argumentation is harder than posting links, but..how about giving it a go?

I didnt ban the Youtube so i will not be offend here, but some Turkish citizen get offended and goes to court and court finds their claim true, it is sad,

but the thing to consider is why there is not ban to the idiots who broadcasts stupid things about any nationality and people

Turkey first goes to Youtube to ask those users information but youtube denies according to policies if so, Turkish government doesnt want that website promoted. thats the thing about Youtube.

Dont you watch news lately about Turkey? Ergenekon? so how can you say that Turkish Media is cencored?

Well DD, Sorry to give you another link to look at...but you are not the only one here.

Read about media manipulation.....

What's Wrong With the News?

' Independent, aggressive and critical media are essential to an informed democracy. But mainstream media are increasingly cozy with the economic and political powers they should be watchdogging. Mergers in the news industry have accelerated, further limiting the spectrum of viewpoints that have access to mass media. With U.S. media outlets overwhelmingly owned by for-profit conglomerates and supported by corporate advertisers, independent journalism is compromised.

Ultimately, FAIR believes that structural reform is needed to break up the dominant media conglomerates, establish independent public broadcasting, and promote strong, non-profit alternative sources of information. '

We all know that the best fun is watching defensive Turks deny obvious facts, quoting well known facts about the west as a defense and launching personal attacks to heal their wounded nationalistic egos... lol

Pay close attention in this class. Learning to add even numbers is a foundation for everything you will need to learn in the future!

no way, I`m not into old women

So she's 25, you're... maybe 13... You're right that she's too old for you, but on a positive note, she could teach you a lot of good stuff!!!

come on catwoman, who are you trying to fool? Daydreamer has revealed the secret. Didn`t you watch the granny gang video? We all know that the tc members without picture on their profiles are all 60-something grannies including you (another explanation for the abundance of the posts about dudus )

btw, If I`m 13, we should call this phedophilia, in this case I have no idea who would be called pervert.

I am going to be a grandmother soon, does that mean I am obliged to remove my pic ?

You can always post a fake picture, or a cartoon... (tamikidakika is doing that too).

So you're a 60-something granny? Nothing wrong with that of course.

I know this is shocking... but some women really do not get excited about voyeristic dudus like yourself to evaluate their pictures. And... I know, another shock... some women do not get upset about their age, especially in the west... It's all about the culture you live in - if you live in a staunch patriarchy that hates women, it is reasonable that women fear to reveal their age because they are only seen as reproductive machines that are discarded once used up. Anyway... this lesson is in 4th grade.

Ok, I understand now. If media publish something about crimes of UN soldiers it's accidental but credible, and if they publish something bad about Muslims it's Jewish propaganda? lol

Never did I claim that all Jewish news is propaganda, some are some are not. For instance

Haaretz

is an excellent news source, as is:

Gush Shalom

So stop trying to paint me as Antisemetic.

Alameda, what about this for an eye opener:

Let's look at the facts of Zionist control.

FACT: ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, UPN, The Washington Post, The New York Times, The
Wall Street Journal, The New York Daily News, Time Magazine, Newsweek,
People Magazine, US News and World Report and countless other media and
Hollywood companies all have either a Zionist CEO, a Zionist News Chief, or
are owned by a media conglomerate which has a Zionist CEO.

I reject it as simplistic, just another conspiracy theory like this:

New World Order

or this:

Bilderberg Group

it's never that simple....

GOOD GOD! Do you think I would defend ANYONE for abusing a child?

I was saying that I am proud we have a military police and proud that our media are not censored from reporting such horrible events.

That is all

İ dont think you would defend anyone for abusing a child
But also i dont think there are anything to be proud about here
İts like 2 brothers playing together, and one of them complained to their mothers about something the other did

Mother will get upset for a while, maybe even send him to his room with no dinner, but still
Next day, they will continue to play together
Mother didnt say,its not nice to play by what it doesnt belong to you,and forbid them
Did she ?!

When mother said that, and do that too,i guess not only you should be proud of such mother

I think it is completely disgusting what this boy had to endure at the hands of his captors. When this sort of incident happens it should be exposed and those responsible should be severly punished. I also agree that we need more transparacy in the military, however do not judge many by the actions of few. I know people in the services who are outraged by this incident.

+++++++++++++1001 It does nothing but endanger all...and I mean all humanity.

It's very unfortunate, but when kept in conflict for too long the human mind cracks. I read someplace, (can't find a link now) that the Vikings found when their soldiers were in warfare over a certain period of time they went "berserk". Keeping soldiers in contracted state of mental and physical siege for such an extended length of time is criminal, in my opinion.

It is inhumane and criminal but let's not forget that 'berserker's rage' resulted in great conquests of the Viking Army. The Romans (whose army was not too bad either) also knew that an angry soldier is a good soldier and thus fed them really poorly (is there a better way to infuriate a guy than that ).

By no means do I defend such treatment of those poor chaps who very often get in the middle of a war not really knowing why they went there. I am just not surprised that war results in dehumanisation - for most of the time you do everything against the values you were brought up to and you live in fear for your own life. It's hard to remain a human being in such conditions. War is not a gentlemen's thing.

If you give too much freedom to soldiers, if you teach them to question orders rather than obey them without questioning, you don't have an army - sad but true. Army is not a democratic institution, it's based on hierarchy and blind obedience.

Yet, it is no excuse of violence like rape or killing civilians, crimes that are against army code and should be unconditionally prosecuted.
