Because of the big demand for Turkish learning groups, we made a small change in the plans. We will reorganize the groups in a way that will not require too much work from our volunteer teachers. This will take a few more days to implement, but the benefit is that nobody will be left out. I will post any updates here. Thanks for all the interest and enthusiasm.

Beginner 1 is for complete beginners and Beginner 2 is for those who know the basics of Turkish.

I am already in beginner 2.  Will there be a class 3 for those students who have completed beginner 2.

if i fail the exam and have to redo this, is theer a limited number of students that are gonna be accepted and since i already tried, will i get another chance?( to join that is?)

We are thinking of introducing a different way of offering the groups and in that system, there will be unlimited number of students that can join. And you can also re-do the group again if you wish.

There are no ´times´ at which classes are given. The lessons work as follows: lessons are posted in the Turkish Classes section of the website. There you can log in any time you want and study on your lesson. You can ask questions in the forums that belong to your class, and your teacher will answer when he/she is logged in as well. After you have studied on your class and have answers to your questions, you can make your homeworkassignments and add them on the website, where the teacher will evaluate your work. So you can study and do homework in your own free time

I have a question.  As far as i know, a beginner 1 student must at least, has 75% on final exams.  What if i did not pass or got at least this minimum grade, will i be allowed to join beginner 2 or shall i repeat the same course, e.g. beginner 1.

You can retake the exam if you fail it after the first try. The final exam will be based on the homework quetions, so if you understand the homeworks and you did ok in most of them, you will be fine for the exam. 

After you pass the final exam, you can join the next level.

i´d love to start Beginner 1 in November, though as i understand by now there are some quantity limits. I guess you will post list of students for both classes - Beginner1 and 2. I m right?

The way we are thinking to make the groups yes - there will be a limit on the number of students that can join. However, it is probable that students will be able to join the classes themselves, not entered by me, so the order in which people posted replies here will not matter. I will post all the information on how to do that in the first post of this thread, once everything is ready.

This time, you will be able to join the groups yourself and there won´t be any teacher assignements -- any teacher will be able to evaluate any student´s homework. The current 2 beginner groups will be divided into 4 smaller groups. There will be a limit of students who can join each group, probably around 25. I will announce all details as to where and how, soon.

If I understand correctly, by posting a note here I can "enroll myself." If so, please add my name to the Beginner´s II class.

If this is not correct, please let me know what I need to do to enroll.

During the first batch, beginner 1 includes all the lessons in the beginners 1 and 2 of the second batch.  Would this mean, i will start from beginner 3 then beginner 4?  What about the results of the first batch learners?  I remember, there is a final exams and with a passing grade of i think, 75% or 85% (please correct me).

Yes, you will start from beginner 3 and then 4 (both of which will be ready probably tomorrow). Unfortunately, you will have to take either two final exams or just a final exam over beginner 2 (the higher one) to test your level and to make sure you have learned the previous material well. The final exam functionality is not available yet, but it will be in a few weeks.

Beginner 2 group (now split into beginner 3 and 4) is ready! Everybody can join.

I would like to join begginers 2 level, but when does it start?

It starts whenever you are ready! 

Just sign in, then click Turkish Classes in the left column.

Then click the Beginner level 2 (or whichever level you want)

Read the lesson, then do the homework.

Some homework is multiple choice, which will give you the answers after you submit it.

Other homework will need to be corrected by volunteers, and this will vary in the time it takes for your homework to be evaluated.
