Does anyone know why the very useful Turkish Language learning site called the Manisa site and which I had bookmarked as www.turkishlanguage.co.uk has gone to. It seems to have vanished. There wre links to this site from practically every other Turkish language site I have accessed.

It´s not a website about the city, but it was a site to learn turkish. Was made by an english  man who lived in Manisa and had to learn turkish. So he built the website to teach grammar.

I love Manisa Turkish and I hope it comes back soon.

Thank you, Natalia..

Yes, Manisa is a historic city, nice and rich city, near the Aegean Sea, Izmir.

it has big size agriculture and industry and economic potential.

Do you want to learn Turkish?

I´ve been trying to find the same site, with no success. It seems to have ceased operation. However, if you go to www.archive.org and type in Manisa´s former url there, you can find archived versions of the site´s old content. There are some changes to the formatting, but most of the information is archived there

Oh thanks very much for that info!  I´m lost without Manisa! Slight problem - I deleted the site from my favourites and can´t remember the url

Thanks Apmahd, I´d been wondering where this site had got to.  It´s always useful to read same information from different sites.  Relieves the monotony when revising

John has retired and is now living in NZ.  One hopes he is still in good health and able to find a less expensive hosting service to enable this service to continue.  It was a very good and useful addition to this site.

Hi, I downloaded contents of Manisa Turkish website about 1 year ago (I think it was in July 2008). Maybe not all, but probably the major part of it. I´ve just uploaded it to RapidShare, here´s a link:

http://rapidshare.com/files/211791011/manisa.turkish.zip

Unfortunately, it´s about 24 MB (there are some pdfs and mp3s included) so you will have to wait for a while (I have also a shorter version about 8MB, if someone is interested I can upload it too).

When you download it all you need to do is to unpack it somewhere, get into "turkishlanguage.co.uk" folder and inside of it open "index.html" file. Sadly, I guess I didn´t download some style-related file, because website looks quite different (layout is bit messed up, most of colors are gone) but fortunately it´s still readable.

Hope it´s helpful. If someone has any problems with downloading it then send me a private message with your email, when I have a time I can send it by email.

Great, but I looked at the link and it looks like the files will disappear after 30 days unless you register with the site? Do you know anything about that?

I´ve registered as a free user at RapidShare, and it states there that files will be deleted 90 days after last download (so if nobody download it for 90 days then it will be removed). If you read there that it is 30 days then it looks bit strange, if I have more time today I will have a look at it to check how it is in fact.

BTW, I just noticed that archived version of Manisa Turkish is back online:

http://web.archive.org/web/20080202222619/www.turkishlanguage.co.uk/index.htm

but anyway I´ll keep version uploaded on RapidShare, so if anyone finds it useful then it´s still available.

My error, I looked again and saw it is in fact, 90 days, not 30. I downloaded it for a "just in case" event. Thanks for letting us know Manisa is back online.

That was very generous of you, thank you!

In response to Mike Mc >  Here is the link for ´Manisa´ ... it has been archived and has not been updated since it was taken off.  I understand that ´manisa´ may be restored by the author, John Guise, in future !!??  He now lives in New Zealand.

Manisa Turkish is now back on line!!  It can apparently be accessed at www.turkishlanguage.co.uk in quote " a simplified (and quicker loading) form."

This is great news - unfortunately at the moment I am getting ´Webpage unavailable´   - hopefully this is just a glitch.
