Inspired by daily Hürriyet columnist Ahmet Hakan, who wrote an article setting out the seven similarities between Obama and Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoðan, I will write seven differences between the two leaders.

One: Obama is a leader of a liberal party while Erdoðan is a leader of a party which is the focal point of anti-secular activities.

Two: Obama´s political party exports a culture of democracy to the world, our political party can not even import democracy!

Three: Obama is conciliatory, he has extended an olive branch to Iran. His politics involve compromising with all parties, including Republicans. However, Erdoðan casts out the main opposition Republican People´s Party, or CHP, and the third largest party in the Parliament, the Nationalist Movement Party, or MHP. He tries to win approval not through conciliation, but through fighting.

Four: Obama has a senator-ship background while Erdoðan has a mayoral background. One graduated from the best university in the world, the other graduated from Imam-hatip, a religious school. One writes a book, the other boasts about reading a newspaper!

Five: Obama is young and athletic. Erdoðan is nine years older and has serious health problems.

Six: Obama will lead a country which has rolled up its sleeves in the maintenance of world security. Forget about maintaining the security of the world, Erdoðan entrusts the safety of people living in his own country, to themselves!

Seven: Obama does not have to be authorized by others to actualize his foreign policies… However, Erdoðan knocks on the U.S. President´s door even on national issues.

I could raise these seven differences to 700 differences…

hahahha, that´s funny although I´m not so sure if all these things about Obama are so true he got the electoral votes to win the elections but in terms of the popular vote, he beat McCain only by 6% -- which means that a lot of people voted for a quite conservative guy, whose running mate thinks creationism should be taught in schools! lol (even Poland is better than that)

This topic is not having the desired effect

Tam:  Don´t you think things would be different if you had a better Prime Minister?

Ciko:  Dont you think they are ridiculing the Turkish governement and unfairly comparing the US?

Teaship:  Don´t you think they are painting Obama in such a wonderful, too good to be true light?

TheHandsom:  Don´t you think this article is biased as it was clearly written by a nationalist?

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?

sure things would be better if we had a pm who is not an arshole, but I`m sure he would still be a puppet of America.

I was referring to religious ideas being taught at schools. Poland is a country where 90% of people are Catholic, yet they don´t teach creationism at schools.

But they wanted to! Luckily the government whose Minister of Education suggested had to resign half way before the end of their governing
