Well, I agree that "Hababam Sınıfı" is a good comedy. "GORA" is funny, too, but the humour there is a little bit too rude. And I would not say that Turkish TV is bad. Actually there exist some nice Turkish TV shows and TV series.

Since I now own "The Man Who Saved the World" (AKA "Turkish Star Wars") on VHS, I was wondering what other odd Turkish "adaptations" there are out there. Which is to say, so-bad-they're-good Turkish copies of American films.
So far, I know there's a Turkish version of Wizard of Oz, The Excorcist, Star Trek, and E.T. What might the Turkish titles of these films be? Might be interesting to get the original films over the net versus buying VHS bootlegs. Of course the region will likely be wrong (unless I buy a region-free player from J-List, been thinking about that) and even with that the video format is probably incompatible (Euro TV is in a different format than U.S.).

"Gegen die Wand" should be nice, it's a German-Turkish production. But I haven't seen it yet, it's always rented out at the videostore..
