How do we tell the difference between ´arýyorum´ as in calling ´arýyorum´ as in searching ´´arýyorum´ as in longing?

It depends on the context, or if you´re talking face to face, or on the phone, you can tell it from his/her voice if it sounds so melodramatic, it´s longing..

oh and as for your post, when you say "seni çok arýyorum" it really doesn´t sound like that person is "calling" you, it´s more like longing.  If he were to say "seni sýk sýk arýyorum" or something like that, it´d mean "i call you frequently"

also if it were "seni çok aradým"(in past tense), then it could have meant both cases(longing, calling) so you would have to resort to the previous and next sentences, or to the tone the person is using=)

if we called someone many times or have been calling someone we say ´seni çok defa/kere aradým(past)´´ or  ´´kaç kere aradým seni ( i called you many times)´´

if u were on the phone you wouldnt say ´seni çok arýyorum´ cuz your already on phone ( seems its present continious but its simple present actually)

it depends on the subject you talking about.  if  he/she  said  that ´´gittiðinden beri seni çok arýyorum´´ or ´´bütün gün seni aradým ama sana ulaþamadým´´ how would you translate these sentences?

thank you for telling me . yes i did get the answer but as the response was i think it means i can´t hold time. i wasn´t sure if that was the correct translation thats why i posted it again. thank you for your help

I think that translation will make more sense in the context of the whole line:

Ama karar ver, tutamýyorum zamaný. But make a decision, I can´t hold the time.  Basically he´s singing, come on, woman, make up your mind, I´m not getting any younger here.

Methinks (maybe a native can confirm/correct/elaborate).
