Over two years ago - not long after I joined TC - I asked a Turkish guy what the word ´muthiþ´ meant.  He told me he had never heard the word in his life!!  I think I must hear that word 20 times a day on TV now I live in Turkey - so it´s obviously not that unusual!!

Is it likely that everyone knows every word and expression in their own language?  I´m sure there are expressions and sayings that not everyone knows - maybe depending on whereabouts they are from?  I know in the UK a lot of expressions used in the North of England for example mean absolutely nothing to us southerners!!    Even at my advanced age I often come across words or expressions I have never heard before lol
