Even the Italians (who normally loved a treat of pork) I used to hunt with did not consider wild boar meat on par with pork.  They used to carve out a very small (selected) portion of the boars we shot, to take home and eat. The rest of the boar would be  left back in the wild,  for wolves and jackals to feast upon...

Thank you Alpha, for confirming.  These men did not consider wild boar to be pork.  The meat, they said was more like beef.

What´s so unbelievable with turkish men eating wild boar? Same as to say turkish men don´t drink alcohol. Though my husband sees a wild boar as a pig and he is right, because it is, just wild.

So even though the wild boar is a species of pig and the ancestor of the domestic pig, if it tastes like beef it´s ok to eat it??  lol lol.  Obviously a branch of the ´raký isn´t alcohol it´s ´medicine´  school of thought!
