Quoting AlphaF

If you are after buying bread, in a grocery store, "ekmek istiyorum" is sufficent to express what you want, but  not nearly polite enough.

Try, "ekmek istiyorum, lutfen".  Cool

I agree! Smile

My Turkish teacher stressed that is was considered abrupt to just go into a shop and say

´ekmek istiyorum´. By adding the ´lütfen´ after your demand, it becomes a polite request.
