i really do not know what the rules are now.

but many years ago ,my canadian friend bought a car and he got a blue plate number only by applying to the police station so if you do the same i m sure they will help you solve ur problem.

I think maybe you could sell your car in your country and buy a new one in Turkey, some teachers in our uni have brought their cars from Europe, and it´s a real hassle to register it in Turkey, plus you can´t sell your foreign-bought car to a Turkish citizen in here, and in case you travel back to your country, you need to get a document from the touring association or somesuch to justify your foreign-bought car sitting around in Turkey while its owner is away.

It seems to be quite the bureaucratic hassle.

Right, I´ve heard everyone complain about the price of cars in Turkey in comparison to Europe, I have no clue since I don´t own a car and don´t look forward to that anyway

As far as I am aware the UK is more expensive on nearly everything (including cars) than Turkey

This is the trouble when people just say "europe" - maybe eastern europe is cheaper, but we are all different countries with different prices!!!

are you sure?

Turkey has the most expensive gas in the world, and I`m sure cars are more expensive in Turkey than in the UK.

Quote:

Americans are shell-shocked at $4-a-gallon gas. But consider France, where a gallon of petrol runs nearly $10. Or Turkey, where it´s more than $11.

you pay more than $11 for gas?
