Thank you. From where comes the word ´cami´ ?
cami is an arabic word and it means in arabic the thing which contains more than one thing
or place which contains amore than one section
this the genral mean in dictionary

cami in arabic is the same word in turkish and therfore it has exactly the same meaning, which is mosque 
the only difference between the arabic and the turkish one is how it is written

yes i know that but iam talk about the root of word and the orginal arabic meaning
the meaning of word is mosque i know
but the quetion where it is come
hence i write the meaning which it is come so i am learning arabic language and litterature

originally the word mosque ´cami´ came from what youre talking about..a combination of things.. but now you can use ´cami´ as a noun to mean mosque as well as an adjective to mean a combination of things
and by the way theres no point of studying FORMAL arabic unless youre interested in studying the quran, other than that you should study COLLOQUIAL arabic... as that is what people use

In Ottoman Turkish cem means gathering together, (math) addition, The words cami, cemevi, cemiyet (society, association), cemaat (congregation, assembly) are from the same root : cem.
