Just curious...
Is Mother's Day even celebrated in Turkey? If so, when is it?

Hi
Mothers Day is celebrated in Turkey, but I've forgotten when it is. This year it wasn't the same day as in England, I think it was about 4 or 5 weeks ago.

It is funny that you think Mother's day is on the same day all over the world, because I know, here in Germany it is celebrated on the same day as in the USA...BUT Father's Day is a not on the same day as the American one. I will have to ask some friends and let everyone know. Inquiring minds want to know!!!

Dutch Mother's Day is sunday the 15th of may this year, but i remember in England it is on anotehr day. We always celebrate my nana's mother's day (English) on another day than my mum's.. so i think they aren't on the same date.

Thailand mother'ss day is 12th of August and every year is the same and mother's day is the queen's birthday thatwhy we call this day mothers day.

In Thailand we celebreat mother'ss day by giving her lots of jasmin flower and buy some gift for her.

Happy day for all mothers

That's also my illusion too
Here in Hk, Mother's Day is on the 2nd Sunday in May, so it's on different date every year...
Likewise, Father's Day here is on the 1st Sunday in June, weird system but sounds interesting need not to remember the exact dates

The reason the UK celebrate Mother's Day on a different day, is that we still celebrate the traditional Mothering Sunday which falls on the 4th Sunday of Lent (this year 26th March), when the 'fast' of Lent ended and people went to their home towns to their original churches. Because many people had not seen their mothers for a long time, they took them flowers or gifts and so it became 'Mothering Sunday'. The MOTHER'S DAY celebrated in USA and other countries, is a different celebration

Lyndie's day, Kadir's day etc.
We celebrate everyday for different reasons. 365 days are not enough now. God, please give us some days more in a year.

Actually it is Lyndie's Day tomorrow! but I'm not telling how many years I am celebrating

By the way Kadir, are you a secret Director for Hallmark?

Thank you for the early best wishes dear friends.

Kadir you can have 3 guesses but if any of them are the wrong side of 40 you wont be able to run or hide. (DK, the same goes for you if you reveal the truth!) *evil chuckle*
