Inspired by Turkishcobra´s "Turkish Cities Game" :

I will think of a Turkish landmark and give it´s location.  Users must think of another landmark and quote it´s location.  There must be some form of connection with the previous landmark eg.

a) neighbouring area/province

b) as in Turkishcobra´s game, the name of the next landmark must begin with the first or last letter of the previous one  (landmark name or location name may be used).

c) any informative fact that links the two consecutive landmarks

Happy hunting everyone (well almost everyone) !

I will begin with two, as an example.

Kız Kulesi (I hope the spelling is correct as I found different variations) location = İstanbul

to

Kapadokya - home of the famous "fairy chimneys" and ancient underground cities (Central Anatolia)

Sarayiçi (connection is it is near the Tunca): the old site of the Ottoman palace in Edirne when Edirne was the capital. The tower of justice still stands, and the wrestling matches take place here.

Marion,

You are supposed to start with the first/last letter of the previous one (have you noticed the red bold letters?). You break the rule. Bir daha olmasın.{#emotions_dlg.head_bang}

 Canım sorry I read the (a), (b) and (c) as either (a) or (b) or (c):

c) any informative fact that links the two consecutive landmark

In my defence, The first example was Kız Kulesi and Kapadokya. I didnt think Istanbul neighbours Nevşehir (rule a), and there is no link given (rule c), only rule (b) applied. So I though it was OK to just pick one of the three points.

I promise to never, ever, be naughty in this game again!

Well

Since this is not a ´boring thread´ like cities of Turkey, I will join

Selimiye mosque (a great monument from Sinan) in Edirne

Oh, acctually I didn´t pay attention to (a). I think you don´t break the rule then. There is a connection between Tunca and Sarayiçi through Edirne.

 Connection: not letters but places:

Mount Ararat: to climb this mountain you have to start out from Doğubeyazit, which is also the town nearest İshak Paşa Sarayı.

It is snow-covered all year round, is very beautiful, and is where the Bible said Noah´s Ark landed, so it is the site of the world´s first rainbow.

I will leave the clevers to add a picture of this beautiful mountain

You are right Marion .  I gave the a), b),  c) as options and I just happened to choose one and everyone followed suit lol.

It doesn´t matter anyway, I´m enjoying the views and noting the locations for future reference.

This game seems awfully nice.

I wish I had the suitable information to contribute.

I am learning about places here more than any tourist booklet

Niğde-Kümbet  -  Tire in the Province of Izmir

I read somewhere that it has the largest town market in Turkey.  Now I realise why it is the favourite place of one of my Turkish friends.  I haven´t been myself, but it´s on the list.

You can contribute and learn at the same time. Explore the map and look for places, learn a little about them, then share it here .
