In case you do not know catwoman, it is a pattern in Turkish and very frequently used in sports by media. such as "Galatasaray Fenerbahçe´ye boyun eğdi."

If you check out the results tomorrow, you will find it was Turkey that beat Serbia and not Turkia.
Anyways, these basketball matches are not for the faint hearted. From the very beginning, it looked like a doomed match and I was pretty sure it was a no go. Something happened through the end and we won it somehow.
I remember hearing something like our team currently being trained by coaches from the NBA. This may explain why we get better through the ends of games.
It was an interesting match. Throughout the game we were unlucky with the ball. We lost possession whenever the odds were fifty-fifty; we were terrible at free throws, we could not outrun the opponent. We lost many rebounds and we were quickly penalized conceding three points after each mistake by the unbelievably accurate Serbians. Still we never gave up on the game and got the reward of staying in the game no matter what happened.
I don´t know what will happen tomorrow. The US is closer to the title being the more experienced side but we are full of surprizes too.

Some win, some bow; some congratulate the winners and some eat theır hearts out....That is sports.

Thanks for explanation, but the comment is rude anyway. Being a winner doesn´t mean you can forget about being a gentleman

What do you mean Galatasaray, Fenerbahce´ye boyun eğdi? A better example would be: "Fenerbahce, Galatasaray´a boyun eğdi."

Slavica,
I do not know what relation you have to Serbia. But even if that relation is a very close one, there is no need to be a sore loser.
There is nothing ungentlemanly about my sentence "Serbia bows to Turkia", if it is clear that the statement was made in reference to a single and particular basketball game.

Alpha,
I am from Serbia and it is clearely written in my profile. And I may be a sore loser, but I politely congratulated the winner and wished luck in today´s match. And, of course, I understood that your statement was made in reference to "a single and particular basketball game". Still, I don´t consider very gentlemanly humiliating alraedy beaten rival, not only in this "single and particular basketball game", but generally. In winning one should also save the dignity, as in losing.
But of course, you can have different standards in being a gentleman...

It seems to me they lost the match in the mind from the beginning, I think Serbia win was enough for them, therefore not usual struggle from Turkish team, regarding the fans they were worst during the match but a little better during ceremony

in some sense, yes. Playing the final game was all we wanted, and I`m glad Lithuania beat Serbia, one of the ugliest teams in the tournament.

Thank you very much for your kind and honest comment I thought it was Basketball World Championship, not beauty contest.
Anyway, beauty is in the eye of the beholder

i wasn`t referring to their physical appearance but their behavior in the games.
