What are you two going on about
No you do not need a job to get residency just money to pay for your residency depending on how long you want, you can only get one year to start with ,which works out about 800 to a 1000 lira for the year ,but after that you can get up to another four years ,thats if you are rich and can afford the four years , you also have to prove you can support yourself financially for the year ,so you will have to show evidence of your bank account, apart from a bit running around to get different stamps put on your forms ,its quite easy to obtain:oh and you need a rental contract too .unless you are reallyyyyyyyyyy rich and can afford to buy your property good luck

First get your residence permit then look for a job. Because the employer has to apply for your work permit.

A work permit and a student´s permit are two totally different things. If you just have a residency permit as a student, you´re not allowed to work. If you are serious about going to university, it is better to contact the international office at the university of your choice. They can tell you far better about everything that you need and everything that you are allowed to do while living and studying in Turkey.
Take into account that if you are studying in Turkey, either your Turkish needs to be very high, or you need to go to a university where they teach in English. Most of the universities that do that are private universities and the tuition fees can be high.

I understand that student permit and work permit are different things. I will explain it to you.
Here in australia International Students can apply for a work permit. After that they are legally allowed to work 20 hours per week. Is it possible in turkey too or students are not allowed to work at all.

It´s around 10 000 - 20 000 USD per year at Bilkent University - Ankara.
The fee depends on which faculty you´d choose..
They teach in English.

I think you are asking question that are ahead of time. Learning Turkish is one thing, but being able to learn Turkish at the level of university classes is a whole other thing. Secondly, you need to figure out WHAT you want to study. Not every university is the same, they do not all offer the same programs, and thus I can´t tell you what your tuiton would be.
You should figure out, do you want to study? Using a study as a means just to stay in Turkey is not the best of ideas. It would be better to just find a job, for example as an English teacher (since you are a native) if you get your TEFL (or a diploma like that). After you figure out, do you really want to study, than figure out which subject. Than figure out which universities offer the program, and than which universities have the best reputation in that program. You seem to be focussed on money and residency permits now, instead of the more basic important questions that you have to ask yourself first.
