I know we have quite a few 'unnecesary' threads these days but I did wanna add these. With lots of fun i read the dedicated songs and the messages to unknown receipients.

If you find a quote (maybe a wise man said it, or it was a funny one in your favourite series) and you think it could be dedicated to someone, here you can post it. Because i can only receive TRT int, i will probably only quote wise man and SATC-quotes But i hope many Turkish quotes (and their translations) will be added too.

Ohh and if you just find a nice quote but not someone in particular to dedicate it to, just let it be a wise lesson for everyone

This quote is for Aenigma, Sophie, Aslan and Annelyn:

Here are more for you, I hope you'll like them.

Most of us would be upset if we were accused of being "silly".
But the word "silly" comes from the old English word "selig", and its literal definition is "to be blessed, happy, healthy and prosperious."

The chief cause of failure and unhappiness is trading what you want most for what you want now.

Be helpful. When you see a person without a smile, give him yours.

Just little bit about Zig Ziglar:

For over three decades Zig Ziglar has been recognized by his peers as America's most consistent messenger of hope and optimism.
Having shared the stage with Presidents Ford, Reagan and Bush, Generals Norman Schwarzkopf and Colin Powell, Dr Norman Vincent Peale, Paul Harvey and DR. Robert Schuller, he is one of the most sought after personal development trainers in the world.
The client list of Ziglar Training Systems reads like who's who in American and global business.Nine of his twenty-three books have been on the bestseller lists and his titles have been translated into more than thirty-eight languages and dialects.
Zig Ziglar has inspired people from every walk of life to achive more than they ever thought possible.

It is a quote from a friend of mine who suffers a severe facial disfigurement and has to deal with some nasty people along the way - and with the topic of face transplants in our news I thought I would put it here. Many people will relate to it I am sure, hence the sobriety (I'm on the gin if you think this is a bit out of character!)

Dedicated to everyone who likes this one as much as I did

'In bed that night I invented a special drain that would be underneath every pillow in New York, and would connect to a reservoir. Whenever people cried themselves to sleep, the tears would all go to the same place, and in the morning the weatherman could report if the water level in the Reservoir of Tears had gone up or down, and you could know if New York was in heavy boots. And when something really terrible happened - like a nuclear bomb, or at least a biological weapons attack - an extremely loud siren would go off, telling everyone to get to Central Park to put sandbags around the reservoir.'

"If I speak in human and angelic tongues, but do not have love, I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal.
And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all mysteries and all knowledge and if I have all faith so as to move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing.
If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, (love) is not pompous, it is not inflated,it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails".

Never abandon an old friend, you will never find one who can take his place. Friendship is like wine, it tastes better as it grows old.

Seek assistance through patience and prayer, and most surely it is a hard thing except for the humble ones. (Qur'an - The Cow 2.45)

From: Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close - Jonathan Safran Foer

He's an adult and can make his own decisions. The only question is - if there's no hard feelings then why leave?

In order to be a master of knowledge, you must be a slave of studying - Honoré de Balzac

This is what whipped me each day while studying for the university exams. If I studied the university, it is thanks to this saying!
