The Taxi Design Contest, run by the İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality, is now going for a plebiscite. The vote will take place on June 15-29 over the Internet. İstanbul residents have already chosen the design concepts of buses, trams and ferries in past years.

The İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality came to the final stage of the Taxi Design Contest, which aimed to provide more comfortable services to the people. The winning project will be chosen in the contest. It will be open for technological developments and focus on security and accident prevention technologies and accessibility features for the disabled. Actually, they are all really nice designs. I would think function would dictate the design. Although the brown one is cute, it doesn´t look like it could hold much.

Hm... I don´t think you´ll ever see a taxi right on the doorstep of the Dolmabahce palace Interesting location to photoshop the design.

Anyway, I think the top two look the best, but perhaps the top right holds the most lugage space. It´s really cool to let people vote on this!

Just wondering if a low level of carbon emissions is a factor when deciding on new taxi´s.

All are nice, numbers 1 and 4 especially.

Lis - oh, you size-crazy Amerikens, can you picture hummers as taxis taking into consideration how Turks drive? lol

Cool ideas all of them. I like the 1st and 3rd one best. Though the 3rd one already looks like a Ford Transit which is already in use as Taksi vehicles in some states lıke New York.

New York Taksi

Ford Transit Connect.

And its true that Americans tend to associate a bigger vehicle as a status symbol almost. Of course its the same for small sports cars. Relief for our so-called "mid-life-crisis" {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes}

edit; sorry if the foto mess up the page formatting {#emotions_dlg.confused}
